A rich kid can fail upward through connections and nepotism. A poor kid can do everything right and still end up working retail with a master's degree. Meritocracy is the story we tell. Inherited advantage is the system we have.
Also keep in mind that when DNA tests are mandatory at birth, you as men would need to show up, give sample and know that the DNA submitted may be used for other things like ongoing criminal investigations and may match other babies in the database.
The day that women can sue their husbands for siring children outside of the marriage, (I’ll call it paternity fraud lmao), is the day I support men suing women for giving them a jacket, and calling it paternity fraud.
What’s also interesting is that we want to advocate for prosecution for women lying about paternity (which is just revenge) but I never hear these same men advocating for prosecution of absentee parents which harms children just as much.
