Joint Statement by CIJA and the @FederationCJA on the effigies of Jews hanging displayed by the Islamist group Montreal4Palestine
For months, Montreal’s Jewish community has been subjected to calculated attacks by Islamist groups, with the perpetrators acting with complete impunity.
Yesterday, the group Montreal4Palestine crossed the line into infamy. After countless demonstrations featuring hateful and genocidal slogans, where flags of terrorist organisations (Hamas, Hezbollah) or the Iranian regime were proudly waved, our streets were the scene of yet another macabre spectacle: Jews hanging from a rope. This deeply antisemitic act, directly targeting our community, is reminiscent of the darkest hours of history.
The Montreal Jewish community says: enough is enough. We demand that the municipal administration set the tone for what is and is not acceptable in the city. We have filed a complaint with the SPVM; those who committed these hateful acts must be held accountable.
The theory of protest as a harmless « release valve » has run its course. The time for complacency is over. Active violence like the scene at Bondi Beach can only happen when hate is allowed on our streets. The time to act is now. Antisemitic hatred has no place in Quebec. Jewish Montrealers have the right to live in peace in their own homes.

“Decapitation strikes don’t work,” they say. “The strategy isn’t working,” they say after 5, 10, or 20 days.
Strategic effects are cumulative. Impatience is not analysis.
Let's review just what Israel has stuck in Iran according to @IDF 🧵
Governments in Australia, Canada, UK, tried to draw a line: "it's permissible to incite violence against Jews in Israel; prohibited to commit violence against Jews on our soil." But the inciters and the incited do not accept the line and are crossing it.
Useful idiots in the West who believe Trump rallies are Nazi rallies, are awfully quiet about the rallies where 60k kids are doing Nazi salutes.
A total moral inversion has happened.
Hamas can kill all 12 million Palestinians on the planet and the world wouldn’t care.
Saddam killed half a million Iraqis, the world wanted America to keep him. American war resulted in tens of thousands dead, the world went nuts.
Seeing the tens of thousands of Palestinians return to their homes in northern Gaza, one can only remember the endless accusations against Israel: that the war was about displacement, ethnic cleansing, settlements- that these are supposedly the 'real' aims. Now the war has ended, Israel sees itself as victorious, and none of these goals has been achieved. How is it possible?
Here's the truth: Israel was trying to prevent Hamas from controlling Gaza and, primarily, trying to get its hostages back.
I’ve spent so many words in international media explaining that this war could end in minutes if Hamas agrees to return the hostages. But that ship had long sailed; the war was not portrayed by most of the international journalists or politicians as a war at all.
Israeli military casualties were almost never reported. It was presented as an onslaught, a massacre - no security aim, no reason, just death, reigned by Israelis with no purpose. Now, the hostages are returning, and the war has suddenly stopped. Will they remember that forgotten connection?
Hostages were always at the heart of the legitimacy of the war- for Israel, the U.S., and the international community. True, far-right and some Likud elements in the Israeli government had other (dangerous) dreams. The Prime Minister allowed those to be discussed and addressed. Yet these were never the consensus or a real option.
Recap: Hamas first refused to give up control of the Strip. Then, it refused to release hostages before full IDF withdrawal. It then refused disarmament. Now it agrees to all of these conditions. Echo chambers that cheered Hamas’s radical demands were obsessed with indicting Israel rather than ending the war and saving lives.
With all my criticism of Netanyahu and the missed opportunities to end the conflict, this was never about endless war. I write this no to defend him, but to explain the Israeli society. one only needs to know Israelis and witness the scenes of joy now, with this ceasefire, to understand that this is a people that wanted their lives back. Mainly, they wanted the hostages home and to know Hamas isn't a threat anymore.
President Trump, in a true demonstration of state-of-the-art statecraft, made it happen. He will forever be regarded as a hero in Israel.
Those who amplified Hamas’s demands are now silent- or even condemning the agreement. For them, it’s never been about Palestinians. It’s about hating Israel and Zionism to the point of being willing to sacrifice the last Palestinian so that their argument demonizing Israel will prevail.
This interview is deeply revealing about Hamas’s true nature. Long treated in parts of the West as a by-product of the conflict rather than a deliberate strategic actor, its leadership here displays a commitment to a never-ending cult of death. Calling the situation righr now a “golden moment” and offering no hint of remorse or reflection about the massacres of October 7, this Hamas leader is actually making clear the organizations seeks to use death and suffering to break Israel’s will-garnering global sympathy while really preparing for its annihilation.
Hamas played a decisive role in the collapse of the peace process in the 1990s and appears to have aimed for this brutal war in Gaza; civilians are just a holy sacrifice. Too few offer a serious plan to confront it; unlike the Taliban or al-Qaida, many Western elites- and also Russia and China- are unwilling to ostracize Hamas. It falls to Israelis and commonsense Americans to resist the threat and recognize the danger ahead.
“The United Nations (UN) rejected an offer Wednesday from the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) to transport its aid, sitting idle after crossing into Gaza, for free, despite its claims Palestinians face starvation.”
The UN politicizes absolutely everything…
🎥 WATCH: 950 trucks worth of aid, currently waiting in Gaza❗️for international organizations to pick up and distribute to Gazan civilians. This is after Israel facilitated the aid entry into Gaza.
Hamas is holding up the ceasefire over who controls food aid.
They’re demanding GHF be removed and the @UN put back in charge.
Why? Because control of aid means control of Gaza. With the UN in charge, Hamas steals, taxes, resells, and stays in power.
And don’t forget: UNRWA staff helped on Oct 7.
Hamas doesn’t operate from military bases. It hides in homes, hospitals, schools, and this time, in a cafe in Gaza City.
The IDF struck one cafe in Gaza today. Hamas operatives were killed, but so were civilians.
I’m desperate to see the hostages come home. I want this war to end. But after 600+ days, we haven’t defeated Hamas, we haven’t freed the hostages— and civilians are dying.
I know Hamas lies and hides behind civilians, but that doesn’t make their deaths any less real.
We have to do more to protect innocent lives. We need a new path. This cannot go on.
50 million meals‼️
GHF passed an exciting milestone today, but our work is only getting started.
We are working everyday to distribute free, nutritious food aid to those who need it without interference and constantly looking for ways to improve.
Today, for the first time, all four distribution centers operated by international aid organizations and GHF operated simultaneously in the Gaza Strip:
Near the Netzarim Corridor, in the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood, in the Morag area, and in the Saudi neighborhood west of the Philadelphi Corridor.
According to information received from the GHF organization, since the start of the distribution centers' operation, 442,080 weekly food packages have been distributed to families in the Gaza Strip.
We will continue enabling humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip while making every effort to ensure that the aid does not reach Hamas.
To be clear: if Israeli soldiers kidnapped a critical journalist, recorded themselves smashing his legs with metal bars, and proudly shared it online, it would be front-page news on every media platform in the world for months
That most people can’t see the enormous moral gulf between Israel and its enemies is because the global media is a willing accomplice to Hamas’ information warfare
The Shin Bet and IDF released a diagram showing the tunnel network beneath the European Hospital, where Muhammad Sinwar and Muhammad Shabana were eliminated.
I condemn the radical Israeli youths who chanted “Death to Arabs” today. Such hatred is a desecration of Judaism’s core teaching: that every human being is created b’tzelem Elokim, in the image of God. Incitement to violence must be met with the full force of the law.
🔴 Hamas rejects Israel's proposal to release 10 hostages for 45-day ceasefire and resumption of aid.
Hamas does not want to release the hostages. Hamas wants to see Gazans suffer. And as long as the int'l community does not call them out, only enable them & the misery in Gaza.
