they used to be one of my fav artists before I found out they trace, so i'm putting everything in a thread here!!

the artist took notice of this obviously, and said that they were not okay in the slightest with this and asked vinne to take down the merch as well as the posts that had that art in it. vinne didn't do that and the post is still up to this day. https://t.co/k9GVVD4F9X

@2004Dibib it seems kind of deceptive to me that they try to get away with not crediting when the person isn't there to catch them (maybe also why they specifically choose artists who don't speak english)

@2004Dibib the photographer is the model themselves, so they think it's fanart. I'm not sure if they know that vinne doesn't credit them on Twitter and lets everyone think it's their original work because they don't have the app

@moonlight__27 if you're using it to learn it's fine, but when someone traces directly over it and says that they made the art by themselves is lying. and for selling your art, they'd have to be stock photos or you could get in trouble with the original photographers.

@moonlight__27 no, it's because they've been basically taking other artist's works and not asking for permission to pretty much use their concepts / composition / etc. they also don't listen when the original artists ask them to take the work down (continuing to sell it as merch)

@moonlight__27 tracing means that they draw directly over the image, referencing means you look at the image and try to replicate it. because all of the lines in the photos match up to their "referenced art" here, they're not referencing and actually tracing from the original photo.
