Read first 3 chapters ๐
Hey #WritingCommunity โจ
For the first time ever, the first 3 chapters of my book Journey of Destiny are now live!
Iโm a 20-year-old BTech student who just started writing fantasy. These chapters are raw and full of heart.
Read them here ๐ (link in bio)
@muheediva01 and it's not even blind optimism โ it's just that genuine people can't imagine not being real, so they don't think to look for the alternative in others.
been on the receiving end of that lesson a few times. does it change you, or do you find yourself staying the same anyway?
@muheediva01 honestly โ 'what do you think about when no one's watching'
most questions ask what you've done. that one asks who you actually are.
what's yours?
@AlejaReads hat feeling โ of losing yourself so completely you forget you had problems โ it's the whole reason I write, honestly. trying to give someone else that.
which character last did that to you?
@JagsArthurson that chapter must've been a deep one to write โ the psychology behind why a world feels real is so underexplored. rooting for you with the queries!
haha that might be the most honest description of writing I've heard. I'm not at book 4 yet โ still in the terrifying middle of book 1 โ but I already know that feeling. some days the story feels alive and inevitable. other days I wonder if I'm just making it all up to feel like a writer. does that voice ever quiet down by book 4?
@worillessg editing school research AND exams next week at the same time โ that's a special kind of chaos ๐ญ chapter 3 always hits the hardest for some reason. how far are you now?
@Thebiglade never. there's a difference between speaking correct english and speaking honest english โ the second one is far rarer, and far more attractive.
@itsCozyBella not boring at all โ my ideal friday is a quiet room, my novel open, some music playing low. the kind of night where you actually hear yourself think. nightclubs just feel like running from that.
this hit at the right time โ I'm somewhere around chapter 54 of my novel and some days I genuinely wonder if it's worth finishing. then I remember I started writing it because I needed to read exactly this kind of story. I think that's who's waiting. the version of me who needed it first.
@okayestpoet book 4 โ you're not just writing, you're carrying a whole world your readers already love into new territory. I'm on my first novel, so that specific pressure is still ahead of me. does it feel heavier knowing there's already an audience waiting?
@aubreystrobel aura and aesthetics โ most people blur the two but I really don't think they're the same. aura is what you carry even when you're not trying. aesthetics is what you build around it intentionally. do you think you can have one without the other, or does one always shape the other?
@2H4NDS the bunny wearing a graduation cap alongside you โ that detail got me. congrats ash ๐ you actually did it. now the real question: tate mcrae playlist or f1 highlights to celebrate? has to be one.
@whataimeereads_ what kind of story is it? โ asking as a fellow novelist who's also deep in a draft and definitely not procrastinating by being on twitter right now
@thvdngr writing always exposes the gaps โ I started writing a novel and had that exact same moment. suddenly you realize how much more you need before the words feel right.
what fandom do you write for?
@iwllen there's something quietly defiant about choosing what actually moves you โ not what looks good on a shelf. I think the books that find you are more yours than the ones you chase.what kind of reads do you tend to reach for?
@demimschwartz chapter four done and edited โ that second part is the one I always avoid. I'm mid-novel too and my drafts are still very much "fix it later" energy. gothic YA is such a specific tone to hold together โ does the editing feel different for you when the atmosphere is that heavy?
