You can say what you want about Iran but they're definitely pretty unique in their communication: never seen a country threaten another with a math equation before 😅
For those who didn't get it: there is a famous monetary policy formula used by the Fed called the "Taylor rule" that says a central bank's policy rate (i) should equal the neutral real rate (r*) plus target inflation (π*), plus 1.5 times the inflation gap and 0.5 times the output gap (the "i = r* + π* + 1.5(π−π*) + 0.5(y−y*)" part of Ghalibaf's formula).
Ghalibaf adds α(SOH−SOH*) and β(BEM−BEM*): SOH referring to the Strait Of Hormuz and BEM to Bab El-Mandeb. Both have positive coefficient, meaning the more those chokepoints are choked, the higher the rate the Fed would have to set to fight the resulting inflation.
In a nutshell this is Ghalibaf trolling the Fed, telling them that Iran is - in a very real way - setting American monetary policy.
Why does India have such a massive Rich-Poor gap? The answer's hiding in my ₹9,580 taxi ride from Norway. 🇳🇴
My taxi ride post went viral today - I paid ₹9,580 for 22 minutes ride. Many called it expensive, some called - in Norway that bill is ok... almost no one caught the real story behind this expensive ride.
In Norway, a taxi driver, plumber, barber, electrician, nurse, and teacher earns close to what an engineer and doctor does - because Norway built a society where there is no rich and poor gap, where every profession is paid enough to live with dignity.
No class. No stardum. No rich and poor.
In India, that same taxi driver, plumber, electrician, barber or nurse earns 10-15 times less than an engineer or doctor - not by his choice, but by decades of quietly normalizing whose work "deserves" respect and whose doesn't.
We do this in India... Who is privileged and who is not. Who is a star. Who is white collar. And hence, rich and poor. And hence, an imbalanced society.
That's the real root of India's rich-poor gap - not salaries on paper, but which hands and professions we've taught ourselves to undervalue.
What do you think - can India build an equal society with dignity for all?😌

Then why are we paying 30% tax if the public has to do everything by themselves even after paying taxes?
