Dear @narendramodi and @nitin_gadkari, I urge you to heed science, reason, and the concerns of ordinary Indians.
Here, I explain why India’s E20 policy hurts vehicle owners, water resource, and the environment; and helps the politician-middleman, the sugar, and the liquor lobby:
Yes, we had a disappointing weekend in cricket.
But at the same time, I often find myself rubbing my eyes in disbelief at India’s growing competitiveness in sports where I never imagined we’d even be globally competitive.
Volleyball. Fencing. Gymnastics. Rowing. Athletics. The list keeps growing.
Yes, we’re far from the top step of the podium yet.
However, something’s clearly changing at the ground level.
Years of effort by governments, both state and central, (outstanding example being Odisha) along with private sector organisations like OGQ and many others, may finally be starting to pay off..
But it is the individual sportspersons, this new generation of champions with grit, resilience and self-belief, who are my #MondayMotivation.
Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

🚨 DK COOKED MIKE ATHERTON AND NASSER HUSSAIN OVER PAKISTAN'S WC EXIT
"I expected Pak to qualify for the semis because they have played consistently in Colombo, stayed in one hotel, know the pitches well, and both you FOSSILS cried that's one of the reasons India did so well in Champions Trophy. By that same accord, Pak should have done something in this World Cup."
😂😂
When India played the Champions Trophy at one venue, the outrage brigade was in full voice. Nasser Hussain, Mike Atherton, the whole cricketing world was dissecting “home advantage,” saying India were benefiting from familiarity, conditions, comfort.
Pakistan played all their matches in Sri Lanka. Same conditions. If venue advantage is such a decisive factor, then what was that? And despite that stability, they still couldn’t get over the line.
Suddenly, no debates. No prime-time monologues. No think pieces on competitive balance. That’s the point. Venue advantage becomes a headline only when it suits a narrative. Otherwise, it’s just… silence.
