Reverse engineering how Mother 1 scrolls in 4 directions on NES and going insane.
I think I understand how it works and now I only need to implement it (~40% done).
See you in a few weeks. 😭
Heartworm, a retro style survival horror game inspired by the classics but with its own twist, is now available on consoles.
Explore a supernatural house in search of a lost loved one, solve puzzles, and use a camera to defend yourself.
Now on Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.
@RobinPoedev I guess the sudden light will get kids to scramble just the same, and it does look nice. But I do wonder if kids will find the temple as creepy without that quiet "fwoooosh" sound creeping up before they carefully look at their feet and go "NOOOO"
@RobinPoedev if you can't backflip to despawn them the game sucks
Jokes aside tho, an important tension building mechanic gets lost here. The light being so unmissable creates a less tense experience where your not looking closely for cues. I loved that as a kid. Made is so scary
We have a huge pivot underway here at Epic, moving developers around to retool for maximum AI acceleration.
The aim isn't to do the same stuff with fewer people, but to enable everyone here to build MORE and BETTER stuff, and to bring the benefits to all teams using Unreal.
@Jawmuncher@androgynator I'm mad it wouldn't work on VITA3K on my Odin, wanna try this thing so bad but never owned a vita. Only silent hill thing I've never played
They really need to roll back some of that new Silent Hill Townfall patch.
Enemies straight up don't hear you running anymore. I'm playing on nightmare!
@_ScreenBurn bustin a car alarm with a wooden plank and positioning myself just right to get the enemy to walk by me was one of the sickest things I've ever done in a video game
Who's gonna do that now that you can just run behind everyone?
I really hope @_ScreenBurn tweaks the difficulty again because I should NOT be able to do this.
Like there's no reason to use stuff like radios or hide in the shed here anymore. Sprinting is free! Get close too! Nothing hears you anymore!!
THIS IS NIGHTMARE DIFFICULTY
