A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush, to review the functioning and progress of various schemes of the Ministry of Ayush.

The meeting was attended by Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, along with senior officials. Detailed discussions were held on the effective implementation of various schemes and ensuring that their benefits reach the maximum number of people.

Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, continuous efforts are being made to strengthen the Ayush sector and ensure accessible healthcare services for citizens across the country.

Strengthening India–Tajikistan Cooperation in Unani Medicine

H.E. Mr. Lukmon Bobokalonzoda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to India, visited the National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM), Ghaziabad, on 21 September 2026.

During the visit, H.E. the Ambassador was briefed by Prof. Saiyad Shah Alam, Director, NIUM, on the Institute’s academic programmes, hospital services, research initiatives and advancements in Unani medicine. He also visited key academic, laboratory and clinical facilities.

The interaction explored avenues for strengthening India–Tajikistan cooperation through academic exchange, collaborative research, capacity building and knowledge sharing, with emphasis on the appropriate integration of digital technologies with traditional medicine.

The visit was attended by Shri Jasvinder Singh, Director (International Cooperation), Ministry of Ayush; Ms. Manizha Rahimi, PA to H.E. the Ambassador; and officials and faculty members of NIUM Ghaziabad.
