In France, they riot and loot "for Palestine." In the Middle East, they kill "for Palestine." The Islamic regime in Iran attacks Jews, Christians, and Muslims "for Palestine." Hamas committed the October 7 genocide in Israel "for Palestine." At some point, perhaps we should stop asking where the problem is and start noticing the rather obvious pattern.

The global "Free Palestine" solidarity movement has been going on since the Six-Day War in 1967. It has been almost six decades, and not once has Israel even blinked. They just don't care; they do what they consider necessary for their interests.

Two years ago, a serving queer US soldier, Aaron Bushnell, self-immolated while shouting "Free Palestine." Israel didn't even bother to react, and the US reaffirmed that it is fully committed to supporting Israel's right to self-defense.

So, to the Indians who keep shouting "Free Palestine," nobody in the global scenario cares what you are saying. If your aim is to remain performative and gain some clout, by all means, continue, it will surely help your image. But if you really want to help Palestine, the only thing that can actually help is going to Palestine and fighting alongside them for freedom. That is the only way you could make a difference.

And if you do consider this option seriously, get your septum ring removed before going, as it is considered haram in the region and they will strongly object to it.
