Thanks to instructor Chief Jeff Need (West Lafayette FD) and lead evaluator Chief Rob Gaylor (Westfield FD) and his team for the great feedback throughout.
Learning never stops. Already looking forward to Officer IV when it's offered next!

One more professional development milestone checked off the list - I just completed Indiana's Fire Officer III course!
FOIII has been on my development plan since Officer II in 2018, but timing never lined up until District 4 offered it in a hybrid/remote format. 🧵
The class pushed us beyond company-level ops into leadership, administration, budgeting, community risk reduction, and emergency management
Assignments were built around real-world scenarios from our own departments — practical ideas we could actually bring back to our agencies
While on vacation in Wisconsin this week, I took/passed my FAA Part 107 exam! 🎉
I've flown small drones (<250g) for years. Now I can fly bigger, more advanced drones for photos/videos, public safety/@VernonTwpFire & more!

Starting at 11:52 PM last night, I began receiving these emails and text messages from INDOT. I got scam texts at 11:52 PM, 12:24 AM, 6:46 AM, and at 7:07 AM.
This is an interesting new spin on the previously pretty obvious scam texts that came from out of state numbers.
Hey @INDOT you got hacked and someone is sending newsletter updates and text messages to everyone on your list trying to get them to pay unpaid tolls at a spoofed Texas toll tag site.
If you're attending #IWCE25, I'd love to connect! Feel free to DM me.
Even better, join me in person at the session "Public Safety Use of Broadband LTE to Augment Mission-Critical Communications" on Wednesday, March 19, at 4:20 PM in room N261.
Caught a 6:30 AM flight to attend the International Wireless Communications Expo (#IWCE25) in Las Vegas.
Excited to learn about advances in #Drones, #TAK, #AI, #5G/#LTE, #Cybersecurity, how they shape public safety's future, and bring this info back to Vernon Township Fire!
🎉 Exciting News! 🎉 I'm speaking at IWCE 2025 on the "Public Safety Use of Broadband LTE Technology to Augment Mission-Critical Communications" panel, held 4:20 to 5:20 PM on March 19.

Last July, @casemateswine asked us to become "Lab Rats", helping taste and provide a wine review for their site.
Recently we brought this 2022 @Pedroncelli Mother Clone Zin to a sushi making dinner party with friends to taste & review.

Earlier today, I passed my @NREMT Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) written exam. This was the final step in completing class that started in January!
I am excited to be able to provide an even higher level of care to our patients at Vernon Township Fire Department!
Let’s do a quick radar deep-dive…now that sun is down and temps are cooling, showers are losing a bit of energy…there’s one area in McMinnville…about an hour away…I’m watching. Until then, may see brief moisture stoppages. After that..clear.
Happiest of birthdays to our now six year old, Nolan!
Thanks to @macjaeh for coordinating with the Ford F150 Lightning team for such a great birthday surprise and @jimfarley98 for the awesome birthday wishes!
Nolan loved all of it!
Guess I can add Wine Reviewer to my resume!
@casemateswine recently sent us a wine to review as part of their Lab Rat program!
We tasted with family that was in town for the weekend and shared our thoughts in our review here: https://t.co/kAeLvC1xwn
Given the proximity of lightning moving toward the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a decision has been made to pause the pre-race ceremonies and move fans out of the grandstands and Snake Pit.
Spectators are encouraged to follow the instructions of IMS team members. They should exit the grandstands in an orderly fashion and implement their personal safety plans.
The start of the 108th Running of the Indianapolis 500 will also be delayed. Additional updates on timing will be communicated.
Looking forward to this event! We're bringing our 2023 @Ford F150 Lightning, our 2017 @Tesla Model X, and a @Segway Ninebot Air T15 Scooter!
PS: While our vehicles are powered by electricity, I run off of @tinkercoffeeco. Thanks to them for bringing the free espresso drinks!
⚡ Got plans this weekend? The Indy EV Showcase will be cruising over to @16Techinnovate for a chance to get up to speed on driving electric, test drives included!
📅 Saturday, Oct 7

Had a great time in the @CISAgov / @DHSgov All-Hazards Communications Technician (COMT) class last week!
Our instructors hailed from Texas and California and we had students from Indiana and Kentucky’s Transportation Cabinet (@KYTC).
Thanks to @IPSC_Indiana for hosting!
Congratulations to our newest class of COMT's (Communication Unit Technician)! These individuals have spent the last week learning how to install, maintain and troubleshoot various types of communication tools to assist on an event or incident.
On May 19, 1998 seven intrepid hackers from Boston drove a Ford Econoline van down Route 95 to Washington DC to offer testimony to the Senate Government Affairs committee on the state of computer security in government. Their voices still echo across the Internet today.
