The funniest thing about this reported KSh100 million influencer budget is not even the desperation. It is how little the Ruto regime appears to think online influence is worth.

Is KSh100 million even serious money in Kenyan politics? Politicians can collectively contribute more than that to churches in a single weekend, while Ruto himself has made church contributions running into Ksh. 50 million in a single weekend.

Then when it comes to influencers, the people expected to defend the government online, shape narratives and somehow rescue a deeply unpopular administration, suddenly KSh100 million is supposed to be enough.

No matter how many followers or how much online influence someone has, how exactly are they supposed to save a government people are already judging from their own daily lives?

The bigger problem with this regime is that everything is transactional. Ruto and his friends seem to believe they can loot and loot, then take a fraction of that money and use it to buy back public opinion when things become difficult.

They treat Kenyans kama malaya. Pay, hit and go, without even bothering to know the name. There is no relationship with the public, no trust being built and no attempt to understand why people are angry. Everything is reduced to money and transactions.

The same thinking is now being applied to influencers and podcasters. Throw some money around, buy a few voices, flood timelines with praise and assume millions of Kenyans will suddenly forget taxes, unemployment, debt, corruption and the cost of living.

And any influencer or podcaster who supports this sinking regime is going to become very unpopular and lose credibility with the same audience they spent years building.

Watu wakule kidogo kidogo but for long, because the cross of Ruto is too heavy.

🚨TROUBLING: A Kenyan has shared a video from Mwatate Sub-County Hospital showing patients sleeping on torn mattresses with ripped bed sheets. She also claims patients are asked to wash the bed sheets themselves in the morning.

She then asks why Kenyans should chant "Tutam" for the Ruto government.

This is heartbreaking. Healthcare may be a devolved function, but the national government also has a responsibility for health policy and oversight.

Kenyans deserve dignity when seeking treatment, not conditions like these.

Ruto must go. The county leadership must also be held accountable. This level of neglect is unacceptable.

Her name is Esther Wairimu Keige.

She is a senior legal officer at Kenya Forest Service HQ, Kiambu Road where she has served for over 10 years.

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, when she arrived home from work, she told her family that she was feeling uneasy after being asked to sign certain documents in the office.

The following day, Wednesday 10th June 2026, Esther reported to work at around 10a.m where worked until around 2 p.m. before leaving for her home in Juja.

But upon reaching Juja town, Esther mysteriously disappeared shortly after alighting from the vehicle she travelled in.

Yesterday, Esther's decomposing body was found in a forest in Gatundu.

Esther is a victim of abductions, torture and murder.

After SACCOs, Banks And M-Pesa Are Next As Kenyans Become Guarantors For A Debt Crisis They Never Ate

Kenyans must stop asking why Kenya has not defaulted and start asking who is being prepared to carry the default when the music finally stops.

Ghana was here.

Sri Lanka was here.

Zambia was here.

Argentina was here.

Lebanon was here.

The script is always the same, because a broke government borrows until lenders get tired, taxes until citizens are dry, leans on banks until credit disappears, pushes pain into pensions and domestic savings, then tells the public that sacrifice is needed to save the country.

That is why the SACCO story should scare Kenyans more than they currently seem scared, because SACCO savings are not government money, they are the private sweat of teachers, police officers, nurses, farmers, matatu people, boda riders, mama mbogas, small traders and workers who ran there after banks abandoned them.

In every default story, the government does not stand alone at the edge of the cliff, because it drags citizens there as guarantors through inflation, taxes, currency pain, bank losses, pension restructuring, frozen credit and forced patriotic nonsense dressed up as national recovery.

Banks already formed a comfortable debt circle with government, where lending to Treasury became safer and sweeter than lending to SMEs, which slowly choked biashara, starved the real economy and turned ordinary Kenyans into beggars inside their own banking system.

Now the same government that fed banks with public debt is walking into SACCOs, looking at the last pool of money ordinary Kenyans still controlled after taxes, deductions, mobile money charges, fuel prices, school fees and rent had already eaten their pockets.

The anus cannot be stitched to stop diarrhoea.

A debt crisis cannot be solved by raiding SACCOs, squeezing banks, eyeing M-Pesa, selling public assets and pretending that every desperate grab is an infrastructure plan.

Ghana called it domestic debt exchange.

Sri Lanka called it restructuring.

Argentina called it emergency controls.

Lebanon left people staring at bank balances they could not freely touch.

Kenya will give it a cleaner name, maybe national development, domestic resource mobilisation, infrastructure financing or patriotic investment, but the meaning will be the same.

The citizens are being prepared as guarantors for debts they never ate.

Kenyans are not angry enough, because if they understood where this road ends, they would know SACCOs are not the final target, they are the warning shot before banks, M-Pesa and every private pool of money still breathing outside Treasury’s hands.

The money is finished.
