हे माझं वैयक्तिक निरीक्षण आहे आणि ते सगळ्यांना पटेलच आणि रिलेट होईलच असं नाही. पण मला दिवसेंदिवस असं वाटतं की २०१९ हे आपण अनुभवलेलं शेवटचं नॉर्मल वर्ष वाटतं.

मी असं म्हणत नाही की त्याआधी समस्या नव्हत्या. राजकारण होतं, आर्थिक अडचणी होत्या, सामाजिक तणाव होते. पण आयुष्याची एक लय होती. वेळ जरा संथ वाहायचा. आठवणी, घटना, वर्षं यांच्यात एक नैसर्गिक अंतर जाणवायचं.

आज मला स्वतःच्या आयुष्याकडे बघताना एक वेगळीच गोष्ट जाणवते. २०२० नंतर वेळ जणू वेगळ्याच गतीने धावू लागला आहे. एक वर्ष संपतं आणि दुसरं कधी सुरू होतं ते कळत नाही. २०२१, २०२२, २०२३, २०२४, २०२५... ही वर्षं वेगवेगळी आठवण्याऐवजी एकाच धूसर कालखंडासारखी वाटतात.

माझ्या आसपासच्या लोकांकडे बघितलं तरी काहीसं असंच दिसतं. प्रत्येकजण व्यस्त आहे, जोडलेला आहे, माहितीने वेढलेला आहे. पण त्याच वेळी थोडासा थकलेलाही वाटतो. संभाषणांमध्ये भविष्याबद्दलची उत्सुकता कमी आणि अनिश्चितता जास्त जाणवते. करिअर, नोकरी, घर, नाती, आरोग्य, पैसे...प्रत्येक गोष्टीबाबत एक सूक्ष्म अस्वस्थता कायम असल्यासारखी वाटते.

यामागे कारणंही आहेत. कोविड हा फक्त आरोग्याचा प्रश्न नव्हता. त्याने लाखो लोकांच्या आयुष्याची सलगता मोडली. अनेकांनी नोकऱ्या गमावल्या, काहींनी जवळची माणसं गमावली, काहींची वर्षानुवर्षे आखलेली नियोजनं कोसळली. समाज म्हणून आपण त्यातून बाहेर आलो, पण त्याचे मानसिक परिणाम अजूनही दिसतात.

सोशल मीडियाचा प्रभावही प्रचंड वाढला. आपण पूर्वीपेक्षा जास्त माहिती घेतो, पण कदाचित कमी पचवतो. प्रत्येक दिवसाला काहीतरी मोठी बातमी, काहीतरी संकट, काहीतरी वाद, काहीतरी ट्रेंड असतो. परिणामी कोणत्याही घटनेला मनात स्थिर व्हायला वेळच मिळत नाही.

मला कधी कधी असंही वाटतं की आपण आता आठवणी कमी आणि अपडेट्स जास्त जमा करतो. पूर्वी एखादं वर्ष काही ठळक घटनांनी लक्षात राहायचं. आता शेकडो घटना घडतात, पण फार कमी गोष्टी मनात टिकतात.

कदाचित जग पूर्णपणे बदललं नसेल. कदाचित वय वाढल्यावर वेळ वेगाने जात असल्याची भावना स्वाभाविक असेल. कदाचित कोविडनंतर आपण सर्वजण थोडे वेगळे झालो असू. या सगळ्याचं उत्तर एकाच कारणात सापडणार नाही.

पण एक गोष्ट मला अनेकदा जाणवते, लोक पूर्वीसारखे हसतात, काम करतात, फिरतात, योजना आखतात... पण त्यांच्या मनात कुठेतरी एक सततची घाई, एक अदृश्य चिंता आणि वेळ हातातून निसटत असल्याची भावना कायम असते.

आणि म्हणूनच कधी कधी मागे वळून बघताना वाटतं.
२०१९ हे फक्त एक वर्ष नव्हतं. ते एका वेगळ्या काळाचं शेवटचं पान होतं असं मला वाटतं. त्यानंतर जग चालू राहिलं, आपणही चालत राहिलो. पण काहीतरी सूक्ष्म आणि मूलभूत बदलून गेलं. काहीतरी हरवून गेल्यासारखं.

The Supreme Court dismissed the PIL on E20 saying the govt "followed due process." The PIL wasn't asking for a rollback. It simply asked for:

✅ Fuel labels at pumps
✅ E10 option retained
✅ Nationwide compatibility study.

All 3 rejected. This is what "due process" looks like.

Not sure why exactly we have courts in india. Shame.

Hate saying this but it is not an ideal year to buy a car with non clarity of a few things.

Yes for EVs but for ICE, its a huge gamble.

Safest choice in ICE is, Naturally Aspirated Petrol and that too with Extended Warranty. Ideally, buy a car if you are going to drive it above 800 km per month. Otherwise get a used one from Maruti / Honda / Toyota / Hyundai from your known circle.

Diesel, only if your running is 50% or more on the highways. Cars now will have shelf life of tailored 6-8 years. Spend wisely, not like a foolhardy like me who is materialistic.
