In middle school there was this lady who sold amagwinya at the school gate. I used to buy from her all the time so she knew me.

One day I gave her R20 and took 3 amagwinya. She didn’t have change so I waited while other kids were buying and I ate the amagwinya meanwhile.

After a while I reminded her about my change. She looked me dead in the eye and said “zange ungiphe imali mina, manje aphi lawo mangwinya?” 😭

This woman accused me of trying to crook her and never gave me my R17 back. I spent the whole week broke with no snack money and stopped buying from her.
