I know people have said versions of this before, but it’s genuinely so insane that we watch corruption unfold in real time, officials caught in scandals, money disappearing, investigations quietly “closed,” victims never getting justice, and then we all just set our alarms for 7 a.m. and clock in like none of it happened.
We read the headlines on our lunch break. We rage scroll. We send each other links. And then we go back to spreadsheets and customer service voices and pretending everything is stable while the people in charge keep failing us.
It feels dystopian that the bar is in hell and we’re still expected to smile, be productive, pay taxes, and act like this is normal civic life. How are we not collectively screaming? How did survival mode become the default setting?
Some days it really does feel like you’re losing your mind for noticing that something is deeply wrong. But you’re not crazy for being overwhelmed. It’s exhausting to care in a world that keeps proving it doesn’t.
We’re not dramatic. We’re just tired of pretending this is fine.
They just don't get it, do they? It would have been one thing had they been criticizing Martinez's performances. They weren't criticizing that. They were mocking his height. They were talking stuff about Haaland picking him up like a toddler and running with him or throwing him into the net. Don't they see how that crosses a line and how disrespectful that was?
Imagine it is 1995 and a former Utd player had just said, "That Scholes kid better have some other job lined up. He cannot even breathe properly; how will he be able to run? Tony Adams is going to pick him up and throw him into the net."
That's below the belt, and you don't do that to another player, let alone a player of the team you claimed to support. Alan Hansen wasn't a former Utd player, and he wasn't singling out individual players for their physical shortcomings either.
There is a space for constructive criticism, of course, but what they are doing is punching down on another player, and it's just not acceptable.
They will now, of course, be hate-watching Martinez for the rest of the season and jump on him the moment he has a bad game. Pathetic
nightclubs feel like a total waste of time and money... spending hours in lines, paying way too much for drinks, and shouting over loud music just to dance for a few minutes. as an adult, you start realizing your energy, your money, and your mental space are far too valuable to throw away on experiences that leave you feeling drained rather than fulfilled
@The_HoodedClaw @ImmanuelOloo@SibsMUFC Not too sure who believes that, Internet fanboys maybe but the match going fans I speak with seem to echo the same points I'm raising 🤷🏽♂️
@SI92RFC@FootyAccums Come off it fella. By far the worst United team anybody has ever seen and you still can't beat us. Infact, putting the 1-0 pre season match from 1995 aside, have your lot ever beat us in a competitive game?
@mcfcman66 Always the case, Lee. The most laughable fans are the ones who gloat about their teams success/ rivals performance yet they live 20 minutes from their teams stadium and have been once in 10+ years. Keep doing you 👍👍
