@ArnieTTR@WillB_2003 That's rather vague. But ok, by that logic, Ben Stokes allowed the tone of HIS side to rot and fester. He wasn't forced to adopt a casual Bazball approach with no accountability. He chose it. He championed it. He is as responsible as anybody, if not more.
@BOsguthorpe@Alasdair333 Stokes took the plaudits when it worked early on. He should take a large part of the responsibility for it's failure. And I certainly don't exclude Key or McCullum from criticism. Particularly Key should never have been in that role. I don't however absolve Stokes.
@BOsguthorpe@Alasdair333 I would agree. But he wasn't duped into adopting a Bazball gameplan. He owned it. Championed it. And should ultimately take responsibility for what has turned out to be a failed gameplan. Something had to change after the Ashes and it seems his nose has been put out of joint!
@NathOdell@benjonescricket Undoubtedly but it would be a lie to say that Stokes has been an unwilling participant. He wasn't duped into adopting a Bazball gameplan. He owned it. Championed it. And it has ended in abject farce. He should be held as responsible as anyone.
@forestkane7 He deserves praise, absolutely as a fine player but he he's the captain. He should take responsibility. Bazball wasn't forced on him. He was fully onboard. He said it was a privilege for the public to watch his team play. That he wouldn't want an Alastair Cook type player.
@tds122@ECB_cricket They are indeed fools, but surely Stokes deserves some culpability. He's no shrinking violet. He wasn't forced into Bazball. He's a great cricketer, but he has more than participated in the debacle that the England Test team finds itself in. A fresh start might be what's needed!
@jamesg163 Does Stokes not deserve some culpability, being the captain and all? Was he not all in on Bazball and saying how privileged the plebs are to watch his team?
@JohnSunCricket It's entirely predictable from Stokes. He deserves his plaudits as a player but he has been the captain during this farcical period of England's test team. He's responsible. Folks can scream about Key and McCullum but Stokes is no shrinking violet. This is his team, his decisions
@BenColeyGolf Possibly but it looks very me, me, me and trying to paint himself as a victim when he's been the captain and overseen the farce that the Test team has become.
@jfwduffield He has overseen said cricketing nervous breakdown. He's the fucking captain. The buck stops with him and now because he's not getting his way, he's throwing his toys out the pram.
@DPJHodges It baffles me that people are harping on as if Ben is the most perfect choirboy. He's overseen the embarrassment that the Test team has become. He said it was a privilege for the public to watch his team. Do you really think he's an angel to deal with behind the scenes?
@downatfineleg People seem to forget that he is the captain. He is responsible for the farce that the Test team has descended in to. He said that it's a privilege for the public to watch his team. Complain about Key and McCullum all you want, they're incompetent but Stokes is the captain.
