I just voted to confirm Marco Rubio as Secretary of State.
We don’t agree on everything — but he is well qualified and has the experience necessary to represent the U.S. well.
I look forward to working with him and our allies to advance our national security interests.
Scripture says: “I have been young and now I’m old yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken.”
After all these years serving you, the American people, I have not seen the righteous forsaken.
I love you all.
May you keep the faith.
And may God bless you all.
BREAKING: In a shocking rebuke of Donald Trump and JD Vance, Republican Governor of Ohio, Mike DeWine, just eviscerated the claim that Haitian immigrants have been eating cats and dogs. Retweet to make sure all Americans see this and know Trump is lying
It’s always a great experience to see and hear from an old friend, @RepMaxineWaters. Thank you for supporting our efforts in Jefferson County to support Democrats.
@DanPatrick@DadePhelan What a foolish statement Dan. Since when can Democrats win in a district designed to perform at 75% Republican? This election clearly shows an unintended consequence of shamefu Republican gerrymandering. Why can’t you think about Texas first instead of your personal partisanship?
My friend and former Johnson Space Center Director George Abbey passed away a few days ago. The International Space Station wouldn’t be in existence today without his leadership. His contributions to human space flight are without equal.
How blessed we are who have known George Abbey… a patriot and a friend, and a driving force in the success of our space program. He along with others like Tom Stafford, (who passed away last week) were exceptional leaders. Godspeed George Abbey.
@DadePhelan@GovAbbott Representing NASA and the Johnson Space Center for a decade in DC was a true honor. We got a lot accomplished. Great to see this news!
It was an honor to join @GovAbbott in announcing the leadership teams for the new Texas Space Commission and Texas Aerospace Research and Space Economy Consortium at NASA’s Johnson Space Center yesterday. Our state has a proud legacy as America’s leading pioneer in space exploration and innovation, and these newly created entities will help boost Texas’ competitive edge in civil, commercial and military aerospace opportunities and further space exploration.
Thank you to @DrGregBonnen and our House colleagues for their work on this effort, as well as the new appointees to the commission and consortium who will help take Texas’ space industry to new heights.
Former TX State Senator Carl Parker passed away. Gov. Richards referred to him as “the lion of the senate” and Southeast Texas knew him as a man who got things done. A major loss to everyone who knew him.
They showed me the clip of Trump saying he wanted the economy to crash so he could gain politically. Says he doesn’t want to be Hoover.
Here's the thing: He already is. He’s the first president since Hoover to lose jobs while in office. Some record.
My friend and former colleague, Eddie Bernice Johnson, passed away on New Year’s Eve. She was an honorable and highly effective legislator. Congress has lost a trailblazer, and America has lost a true public servant.
At a briefing last week by Border Patrol command, Texas Legislators were specifically told they were seriously understaffed.
Congress needs to stop grandstanding & go back to DC to do its job & pass the $14 Billion @POTUS &
TX border communities are asking for.
@jaketapper
School vouchers failed once again. I wonder if Abbott will keep beating this dead horse and come up with another scheme to pacify pro-voucher millionaires and billionaires. He referred to Republicans that voted against his agenda as pro-union as if that’s some sort of insult.
Mitt Romney:
"I don't really have a home in my party … I come from a tradition of, you know, Ronald Reagan, and George Herbert Walker Bush, and George W. Bush, and John McCain. … Those are the people that have shaped our party: anti-Putin, anti-Russia, anti-authoritarians, anti-Kim Jong Un, very strong on foreign policy...I don't recognize that in the great majority of our party today. And that, for me, is very troubling."
