Just a reminder for those of you in the back:
If Argentina win tonight, Messi is the GOAT.
If Spain win tonight, Messi is the GOAT.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
Financial room? Are you sure? Already signed Gordon and Adeyemi and Flick still wants Cancelo. Big money needed for a striker, CB definitely needed… I’m
Not sure where all this money is supposed to come from.
As I said, if the money is somehow there then that’s great, let’s go out and get a midfielder! But only after a striker and CB.
@Abberh3668 I don’t think Lamine’s value has gone up significantly. Everyone knew how good he was already and he hasn’t really gone above and beyond that yet. But if a player like Morgan Rogers costs £117m, then Lamine is worth £300m comfortably!
I’m also mentioning Fermin and Olmo but you seem to be ignoring them. Look at Olmo’s performances this WC.
And I’ll ask again, do you see midfield as a higher priority than a striker and CB? For me, if money wasn’t an issue, then yes let’s go ahead and target a world class midfielder. But as things stand, we have far better depth in midfield than up front or at the back.
Gavi and Bernal are not average footballers, but even if you think so we still have Pedri, Fermin and Olmo. We’ve also seen Eric Garcia fill in very well in midfield when needed. We’re covered in Frenkie’s absence.
Again, I maintain that a striker and CB are much higher priorities. We’re not a club that can throw money around unnecessarily.
If it were your decision, what would you prioritize?
@trovewho I don’t think they’re necessarily food-chaining anyone. They just threw a ridiculous sum of money Aston Villa’s way. On no planet is Rogers worth that much.
Who is average from that list? All of them have games under their belt, all have been involved in the Spanish team except Bernal, but I’m sure he will be in the future once he has a good injury-free run, all trusted by Flick. They’re not overhyped in any sense!
Do you not think a striker and CB are higher priorities? Might even need a RB as well if Kounde leaves.
