@MPECSInc@CTMike78@techspence Give PowerSyncPro migration agent a go too. Can migrate 1000's machine a day from AD/Entra to AD/Entra, 10min time average, resilient.
@angry_tarsier@AdamGell Yep, migrated ~7000 machines big bang/cutover tenant to tenant (Entra joined to Entra joined) using powersyncpro migration agent about 3 weekends ago. Worked a dream.
@awakecoding But it's not the same Entra which the azure VM is hosted on. Use an internal rdpman to remote onto all the machines, including the Entra joined.
@awakecoding Got this working end to end now. Using terraform we deploy 5 machines into azure, xx01 etc. Dedicated per student. They access 1machine using their corp guest account over bastion. 2x diff domain DC, 2x AD joined workstation. Migrate device 1 AD to AD. Migrate device 2 Entra
@awakecoding Not great news (for you sorry), I was able to remote onto a machine using azuread\ account, I did have the hosts files entries in place on both host machine and target detailing both computers (ip<tab>name). Tried a 2nd one too.
@awakecoding Yeah, I only do this style on a bunch of machines in a temp lab on azure which was deployed for a couple of days for training. Typically I use hyperv which doesn't exhibit this.
@MyNameIsMurray@DenverDamn@awakecoding Nice one. PSP can convert a device in 4minutes (depending on reboot time) and the user is up and running straight away. intune etc with all the OS & app installs in my experience takes multiple hours, then having to configure and sign into everything again. Lots of downtime.
@JefTek@N805DN I think Microsoft supported way is to intune remote reset/wipe, or send out new device.
Neither is a good experience for the users, large downtime/waiting to get back up and running.
The replacement of devices I don't feel is very sustainable, end of life comes early.
