Caleb means "dog" and along with his father was a Kenizzite integrated into the tribe of Judah. Therefore,she could possibly be saying in a play on words (as everyone would have known of Caleb origins & blessings) "even the Caleb's (dogs) eat the crumbs that fall from the Lord's table". and both would have understood the context of her reply
