NLG chapter at NYU Law.
We are a group of law students committed to antiracist, radical, progressive movements @ nyu law and beyond.
People, not property.
For years law students have been calling attention to the complicity of data brokers with ICE within their schools and in the community.
If you are a law school student interested in this campaign and getting involved, send us a DM!

Students at various schools with the @ECCAbolishICE are dropping banners and talking to other students, faculty, and school staff about how LexisNexis profits from the surveillance, detention, and deportation of immigrants.
This week, law students at 15+ schools demanded that data broker LexisNexis END their multi-million dollar contracts with ICE. While Lexis provides widely used legal tools, they also provide ICE access to our personal information and fuel the deportation machine.

Don’t see your school on the list? Join the #EndtheContract Coalition and get your school involved in pushing for the termination of these contracts! Visit https://t.co/ixFMSRFhOo (6/6)
In February, @LexisNexis signed a $16.8 million contract to sell a massive database of our personal information to ICE which will be used to track people down. @ThomsonReuters, @Westlaw ’s parent company, has a similar contract with ICE. #EndtheContract (1/6)
Law students and alumni can sign onto a letter calling on your school’s dean to take action against these contracts. You can sign here. We demand that our schools end their ongoing complicity in detentions and deportations. #EndtheContract (5/6)
Protect immigrant communities. @LexisNexis is fueling detentions & deportations by selling our personal data to ICE. Sign on to demand that your law school’s dean end your school’s complicity and condemn how LexisNexis is profiting off of immigrant lives: https://t.co/ixFMSRFhOo
We are disappointed that some of our classmates, the administration, & media have focused on targeting students who speak out against apartheid, rather than condemning the violent Israeli occupation. Full statement here:

Today @amazonlabor filed ULP charges @NLRB @NLRBGC (Region 29) against @amazon. Unsurprisingly Amazon is in non-compliance with the National Settlement Agreement Notice and posting requirements. We demand that the Board immediately file for default judgement against Amazon.
We are so pleased to announce that the first installment of our special edition, "Movements for Freedom: Scholarship from the Inside" is now live on our website! This publication features work from currently and formerly incarcerated authors. https://t.co/LSZ4ucMesE
🧵@amazonlabor has filed unfair labor practice charges @amazon for unlawfully firing Daequan Smith, who works at JFK8, because he engaged in union activities. We demand @NLRB @NLRBGC immediately file a 10(j) injunction in federal court to reinstate Mr. Smith with full back pay.
RLSC is proud to share this statement expressing our commitment to the BDS movement and our solidarity with Palestinians collectively struggling toward liberation. Read more here: https://t.co/JCRUB4zX1g
