Public Advisory: Update on COVID-19 in Newfoundland and Labrador
Today (Tuesday, January 4), Newfoundland and Labrador has 493 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the last media update on January 3. https://t.co/kyd5Fn9Sl0
❗ 100,000 ❗
Thank you Newfoundland and Labrador, and thank you to our amazing front line healthcare professionals! Booster appointments/clinics are being added daily & as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience as we work to meet the demand.
85,000 ppl 18+ have rec'd their booster dose to date and RHAs continue to add more walk-in and appointment-based clinics regularly in an effort to get as many boosters administered as quickly as possible. Please be patient & continue checking for availability in your region. 🙏
In just over 2 weeks we've gone from 30 active case to almost 3,000 in NL. At this point, the sheer # of cases is overwhelming public health capacity for case investigation. This means we do not have the epidemiological data to show where spread is or is not occurring. 🧵(1/13)
Today's update may have caused increased stress and anxiety for many people. We want to provide the constant reminder that you are NOT alone. Keep these Mental Health Emergency Numbers close for yourself, or someone you love.
While this may be another different #NewYearsEve, let’s take time to celebrate how far we have all come as a province throughout this pandemic and look forward to even better days ahead in 2022.
