Tomorrow, The King Center Bookstore & Resource Center will host a Juneteenth Children’s Coloring Table.
I invite families to stop by with children for a creative experience that helps them reflect on freedom, history, and the ongoing work of creating the Beloved Community.

12-year-old Jada West, a Black girl from Villa Rica, Georgia, tragically died days after a fight with another teen at her school bus stop.
On March 5, 2026, Jada, a sixth grader at Mason Creek Middle School, got into an argument that started on the bus and continued after they got off. Video shows the girls yelling and then fighting. Jada fell hard, landing on her back, and soon collapsed. She suffered a severe brain injury, went into cardiac arrest, and passed away on March 8.
Her family says she had been bullied and is demanding a full investigation and accountability. Shaquille O’Neal has stepped up to cover her funeral costs.
A heartbreaking loss. Rest in peace, Jada💔🕊️
We’re saddened to announce the passing of Robert “Rob Base” Ginyard, one-half of the legendary duo Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock.
His impact on hip-hop and dance culture will live forever through timeless records like It Takes Two, “Joy and Pain,” and more. Rest in Power to a true pioneer whose music became the soundtrack to generations.
Rest in Power, Rob Base.🕊️
Congratulations to my niece, my sister’s namesake, on her graduation from The Atlanta International School. Whew, time really flies. Next up, Columbia University in New York. I’m sure my parents are smiling and dancing in heaven.

@YunggNinoo@RMiller85606@mymixtapez I was definitely on my Gateway computer, on dialup and in AOL chat rooms, searching websites through Yahoo etc., in the early 90s. There was definitely internet. 🤣
@CollinRugg Congratulation to this fella! Now... had this been the same story and outcome but didn't include trump, all the white racist numb-nutts for brains on here would be screaming "DEI" simply because he's a Black Man. Ya'll are really the varmint of the earth.
On what would have been Malcolm X’s 101st birthday, I honor a life that challenged this nation to confront truth, injustice, and the cost of denying human dignity.
May we continue to reflect on the urgency of freedom, self determination, and justice.

Today is Primary Election Day in Georgia and in states across the country. My parents understood that voting is both a right and a responsibility. We honor their legacy not only in what we say, but in what we do.
Especially in this moment, we cannot afford apathy. Vote, stay engaged, and encourage someone else to do the same.

@Aki033119922@Hoang_HQ You are lie. I've seen MJ impersonators & wht they have not been able to do is embody the spirit of Michael. Jafar definitely carried that. Not a single impersonator made me feel as if Michael was in the room or even forget he was an impersonator. Jafar on the other hand did tht!
@Itz__Priscy All of them fire.🔥 I actually like 2 and 3 better!! I’m a mix and match kind of girl. It goes against the group-think, cloned mind, norms. It’s calculated risk (2 & 3) vs playing it safe (1). Although… you look like you can wear anything and make it look good anyway, sistah!
So you mean to tell me that someone down your ancestry line survived being chaıned to other human bodięs for several months in the bottom of a disease-infested ship during the Middle Passage, lost their language, customs and traditions, picked up the English language as best they could while working free of charge from sun up to sun down as they watched babies sold from out of their arms and women rapęd by ruthless sIave owners.
Took names with no last names, no birth certificates, no heritage of any kind, braved the Underground Railroad, survived the Civil Wąr to enter into sharecropping... Learned to read and write out of sheer will and determination, faced the burning crosses of the KƘK, everted their eyes at the black bodies swinging from ropes hųng on trees...
Fought in World Wąrs as soldiers only to return to America as boys, marched in Birmingham, hosed in Selma, jailed in Wilmington, assassinated in Memphis, segregated in the South, ghettoed in the North, ignored in history books, stereotyped in Hollywood...
and in spite of it all, someone in your family line endured every era to make sure you would get here, but you receive one rejection, face one obstacle, lose one friend, get overlooked, and you want to quit?
How dare you entertain the very thought of quitting. People, you will never know, survived from generation to generation so you could succeed. Don’t you dare let them down!
It is NOT in our DNA to quit!
