@AndrewOMullen@socialistadri He got a ton of criticism from leftists on social media for taking money from Megan Ellison for Boosters and heโs asking why that movie Passenger didnโt when it took money from Israel.
@TheCinesthetic Michael Cimino was on top of the world with The Deer Hunter, two years later he was in the gutter and never really recovered with Heavenโs Gate.
@CaptainConcurs@avidseries Because, as Trump said in his press conference today, if they didnโt make this deal, the strait would have stayed closed indefinitely and bring about a worldwide economic collapse, which would obviously affect Canada.
@mikemovies The International (with Clive Owen) has one of the greatest shootouts in cinema history, but the movie was just okay. Lower tier films by great directors (Spielberg, Scorsese, etc) are discussed way more than The International, which I rarely hear about anymore.
@BadFilmTakes1 He doesnโt write his films most of the time, so he is often finds a story he vibes with (Jaws, Schindlerโs List, Raiders, Jurassic Park, etc.). Heโs not pulling these stories out of his imagination.
@mikemovies De Niro is magnificent. It is technically astonishing (direction, photography, editing, use of music, etc.). But the characters are so utterly unlikable in any way, that it is not even in my top five of his.
@swdhldr@MTGraveStudio You got the wrong year. Goodfellas, The Godfather Part III, Dances with Wolves and Ghost came out in 1990, T2 came out in July 1991.
@d4doome Coppola: โMy best film? Thatโs like asking someone with 7 kids, whoโs the best? I love them all but if I scratched deeper, I might say Rumble Fish.โ
@mikemovies It was the top grossing film of 1967 and became (at the time) the third highest grossing film of all time! It was a new type Hollywood film that didnโt have the recent eraโs phoniness and spoke to young people about alienation and dissatisfaction they had with their lives.
