The government sent a clear signal that they expected WCC to reengage with businesses in the dismantlement of LGWM. We have, and now we cannot action their feedback as any changes that impact the project business case mean funding must be reviewed.
Officers have just confirmed that WCC is unable to alter the Golden Mile design without putting at risk millions of dollars of government funding and timing for water renewals. That means removing the cycle lane, retaining bus stops etc. are completely off the table.
The Town Hall is the big WCC decision for tomorrow. Today councilors visited the site to see what had been done and get an understanding of where the extra funding is needed.
Stop by at @NLNZ to learn about a number of exceptional 🇵🇱 women, from mountaineer Wanda Rutkiewicz to Nobel laureate Olga Tokarczuk.
Thank you Everyone who contributed to the official opening and who already visited

Only 2 days left to tell @greaterwgtn that the most important Long Term Plan objective is to fix the Wellington Bus Service!
Of course, they don't ask about this (it's all climate change & equity) so you'll have to put "FIX THE BUSES" in every comment line

Thanks to @nmjyoung and @TeriONeillNZ for attending a meeting I arranged with Steve and Wayne from Oriental Rongotai Rugby Club to talk about their plans for the building.
It's a month of public holidays, with tomorrow 7 April being Good Friday, Monday 10 April being Easter Monday, and Anzac Day coming up on 25 April.
That means there will be a few changes to our services to give our staff a well-deserved break.
