🔸Nobody is suggesting that the anatomy of a locust is not relevant or important information. What we are saying is that our education system does very little to teach the application of the information which effectively renders the “knowledge” useless. If the idea is to mould engineers or applied scientific thought, the system should be more practical and do more than make us cram “head-abdomen-thorax.” If it’s being taught in high school, why wait until one has a PhD to find out why it’s necessary? How does this aid those that might end up in a different field altogether?

This morning I want to raise alarm on lost income to the Exchequer on the subject
of TAXATION of gifts . A gift is deemed income beyond certain value thresholds , a gift is deemed a sale , therefore the value of the gift should be taxed in the hands of the Recipient at fair market value . Are the values of these gifts we read so much about taxable according to the Income Tax Act ?

Simple logic , if you give your child an immovable property the fair market value is not tax free under the Capital Gains Act (Chapter 23:01). It is a deemed sale .
So many assets are exchanging hands in the name of Donations and Gifts , Cars, pieces of land etc , is the interest of ZIMRA invited to assess market value and tax the Recipients accordingly ?

Maybe the world was a better place when we had to access the internet via computer rooms. You had to physically enter the room to get on the internet, then log off, leave that room & the internet stayed behind. The miment we were able to take it with us in our pockets that’s when society collapsed
