@ChandimaKaru@onelanka Everybody with common sense knows that Tamil land means land belonging to Tamil, and we use the term because it's shorter and easier.
Everybody with common sense also knows that the occupation is done with the support of "relevant authorities".
I'm sorry for your loss.
USS Liberty deniers will say Israel’s 1967 attack on the U.S. spy ship was a total accident. Marine Staff Sergeant Bryce Lockwood was on the Liberty and says there’s no doubt Israel meant to kill every American on board.

My out of office message:
The past two years have been marked by an accumulation of losses. Loved ones. Colleagues. Friends. People deliberately targeted and killed by the Israeli army. I learned that grief does not arrive as a sequence of discrete events; it accrues. It settles into my body until I start to wonder not only what has been lost, but what remains.
There are moments when I suspect I have lost some part of my own humanity simply by witnessing so much death. I have watched people die in front of me in ways that resist description. I have lived inside a genocide as it unfolded, and I have watched another continue in Gaza, mediated through the relentless images on a tiny screen in my pocket that refuses to yield. The 24 hour image has dissolved the boundary between proximity and spectatorship. We can leave the scene, but the scene does not leave us.
Some images insist on permanence. On more than one occasion, I have watched paramedics carry bags containing the dismembered remains of children. There are sights that do not become memories because they never cease to be present. They have reorganized my inner life.
How much grief can a human being contain before it alters the architecture of the self?
I have been chased by a Merkava tank. A grenade has been thrown at me. Israeli quadcopters have circled overhead as instruments of intimidation. Sound bombs have become part of the atmosphere. Israeli snipers have opened fire on me eight times, most recently last Monday, while a group of us filmed the demolition of homes in Haddatha. Survival, repeated often enough stops feeling like triumph and just, almost mundanely, becomes another condition of witnessing.
This week brought another loss, one I had neither anticipated nor prepared myself to absorb. Its force has surprised me. Maybe grief does not become easier through repetition. Maybe each loss discovers a new vulnerability. For the next few days, I will step away from the field. Not because the work has become less necessary, but because mourning, too, demands its own uncompromising attention. My heart is in pieces.
Four-month-old Palestinian baby Ahmad Marouf Zeid died after his family’s urgent attempt to reach hospital was blocked by Israeli forces at a military checkpoint in the occupied West Bank.
Watch footage of an Israeli police officer throwing a stun grenade into a Palestinian vehicle in Qalandiya camp
Last night (Sunday), Israeli forces raided Qalandiya Refugee Camp near Ramallah. During the raid, a Border Police officer was filmed abusing a Palestinian driver and throwing a stun grenade into his vehiclewhile blocking the door and preventing him and the passengers from escaping.
In the same raid camp, Israeli forces shot and killed 16-year-old Walid Abu Sneineh and injured three other Palestinians.
The widespread and unprecedented killing of Palestinian children and teenagers in the West Bank is the result of an Israeli policy, which allows the killing and violent abuse of Palestinians with no accountability.
It took a little longer than expected, but we have created a website for people to view the footage collected from Gaza in one place. You no longer have to download the entire archives to see them.
It includes:

"There has never been an Israeli national convicted [of sexual violence] despite all the evidence."
One million Palestinians detained, many sexually abused, but zero convictions. International criminal law expert Triestino Mariniello explains why no Israeli national has ever been convicted despite evidence of sexual violence against many Palestinian detainees.

⭕️ Human Rights Watch’s Lebanon researcher points out that the new Israel-Lebanon framework requires Lebanon to forgo pursuing all legal claims and diplomatic actions against Israel in international political and legal forums.
That waiver would foreclose accountability for a war in which Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have documented extensive apparent war crimes by Israeli forces, including:
🔹 The demolition of more than 10,000 civilian structures in the south between October 2024 and January 2025, much of it carried out with explosives and bulldozers after the ceasefire and outside active combat, which Amnesty says must be investigated as a war crime
🔹 Attacks on medics and hospitals, including strikes that killed paramedics in Beirut and the south; Lebanon’s Islamic Health Association says Israeli forces killed 155 paramedics and destroyed 43 emergency centers during the war
🔹 The killing of journalists, including the October 2023 strike that killed Reuters photojournalist Issam Abdallah, which a UN expert found appeared to be a war crime
🔹 Indiscriminate attacks on civilians between September and November 2024, including unlawful strikes on residential buildings that killed children, per HRW and Amnesty
🔹 The widespread and unlawful use of white phosphorus in populated areas, documented by HRW
🔹 Repeated attacks harming UN peacekeepers (UNIFIL) in apparent violation of the laws of war
🔹 In the 2026 war that began March 2, more than 4,200 people have been killed in Israeli strikes, the majority of them civilians, with over one million displaced. Homes and infrastructure systematically destroyed.
🔹 That followed the earlier 2023-2024 war, after whose November 2024 ceasefire Israel killed more than 380 additional people, including at least 127 civilians, 57 of them in the first 60 days while trying to return home, per the UN
🔹Between October 2023 and the November 2024 ceasefire, Israeli strikes killed more than 3,961 people in Lebanon, including 248 children, 736 women, and 222 health and rescue workers, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.
“They knew exactly who Mona Khalil was.
They knew the bright orange house in Mansouri, south Lebanon. They knew it was not a military site, not a command center, not a battlefield position. It was one of the most recognizable symbols of environmental conservation on Lebanon's southern coast; a sanctuary dedicated to protecting endangered sea turtles and preserving life.”
Marwa Osman writes about Israel’s deliberate targeting of a prominent environmental activist in Lebanon. ⬇️
@reconteur02@aruwij She most likely hasn't, hence the question...
It would be a lot more productive if you just shared the info or point her in the right direction instead.
Palestinian prisoner Ayman al-Fakhouri has been released from Israeli prison today after 26 months behind bars without charge or trial, Quds News reported, sharing before-and-after images showing his severe physical deterioration in detention.
Israel’s widespread use of administrative detention allows Palestinians to be held indefinitely on secret evidence for renewable periods, without being told the accusations against them or facing trial. Palestinian and Israeli human rights groups, along with released detainees, have documented systematic torture, rape, starvation, beatings, and medical neglect across Israeli prisons since October 2023, conditions that have left many prisoners emaciated and that have killed scores in custody.
Al-Fakhouri’s gaunt appearance on release echoes that of other freed detainees, including journalist Ali al-Samoudi, who reportedly lost some 60 kilograms during his imprisonment.
Israeli lawyer Ben Marmarelli says Palestinian prisoners he represents beg him not to visit because they're raped each time he is due to meet them.
This is a scene from Al Jazeera's shocking new documentary on Israel's systematic use of rape.
In the West Bank Israeli soldiers will arrest 10 year old boys, put them in handcuffs and strap black plastic bags across their eyes… force them to sit like that in the sun for hours and even wet themselves… for the crime of “…appearing to have intended to throw stones…”
Did you know Israel is the only state to have legalised torture through a Supreme Court ruling?
There was no accountability after a Palestinian detainee was filmed being raped by a dog at Sde Teiman in 2024.

@sanjiva@aruwij It's a free market, let it sort itself out. If people keep paying the premium despite complaining, then nothing's gonna change.
What is reasonable or not is subjective, you should know better than most.
Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian mother and her child during one of several raids on Palestinian villages and homes on the first day of Eid al-Adha in the occupied West Bank.
The 22-minute monologue that begins this show offers clear, compelling proof that Israel committed genocide in Gaza.
It's then followed by a harrowing interview with Dr. Maynard and the atrocities he saw in Gaza.
Anyone denying the value of this is either a fraud who doesn't believe what they say about the Israeli/US genocide, or is very dumb, or both.
