Today our patron BAFTA award winner author and former doctor @amateuradam is calling on every NHS organisation in the country to plant a memorial tree to honour the lives of health workers who have died by suicide.

The statistics are shocking - one doctor takes their life every three weeks, and one nurse takes their own life every week.

Since we launched our National Memorial Tree campaign, in association with Adam, many hospitals across the country have planted a tree as a poignant reminder of those staff who have taken their own lives.

Why not take the next step today and join this campaign. Their lives deserve to be remembered.

@NurseStandard Nope! We have "healthcare support workers". Pre-registration I was an "auxiliary nurse" though, I remember being so proud of that title! I get why they have changed it but I think the title could be better.

Facebook memory popped up today. I was a newly qualified nurse in charge of an acute medical ward in SE london with rioting outside. Ended up being a 24hour shift. Truely Terrifying. Thoughts are with everyone affected by the rioting right now. ❤️

We've really enjoyed netflix's take on the great british train robbery. I remember an old mentor of mine at St christophers hospice telling me about this. Sad how much these robbers were glamourised by the press when the train driver was so traumatised.
