Today marks a significant day in the history of recognizing the victims of genocide in the Balkans. With 84 votes, the UNGA approved a resolution declaring July 11 as the Int. Day of Reflection and Commemoration of the Genocide committed in Srebrenica in 1995 by fascist Serbia.

Despite my offer, Serbia refused to sign both the agreement & Oct 21 draft. To the contrary, it demanded a side letter that would nullify 3 principles of the Basic Agrmt, Annex & the Oct 21 proposal. Acceptance means signing, and signing guarantees acceptance & implementation.

I stressed that following the September 24 terrorist attacks, the importance of 🇽🇰's security is preeminent, as is holding Serbia accountable. Kosova has consented to/adopted the Basic Agreement, and I offered to sign it today this time jointly with the 🇪🇺🇺🇸 proposal of Oct 21.
