Thank you to the people of Kosova, at home and abroad, for participating in free, fair, and peaceful elections that once again demonstrated the strength of our democracy.
We are honored by the trust you have placed in us to continue leading the country forward. For the fifth time in seven years, citizens have renewed their confidence in our vision and our work, a strong endorsement of the progress we have achieved together. We will work diligently to form the new institutions and serve the people of Kosova.
Good to welcome Prime Minister @AlbinKurti to the Federal Chancellery in Vienna today.
Kosovo is an important partner for Austria and Europe, and we will continue to fully support its path towards the European Union.
Now is the time to overcome political deadlock, advance reforms, and make tangible progress in the EU-facilitated dialogue with Serbia. A stable European future for the Western Balkans remains our shared goal. (BK)

Happy to have met Federal Chancellor @_CStocker today in Vienna, ahead of the Vienna Economic Forum.
I thanked Austria for its long-standing friendship and its steadfast support for Kosova's membership in the EU and @coe. I emphasized that Kosova is ready for candidate status and the opening of accession negotiations. We also discussed strengthening our cooperation in trade, investment and energy.
Austria and Kosova share close ties, not least through our thriving diaspora community that lives in and contributes to Austria.

It was a pleasure to welcome yesterday in Prishtina @HoxhaFer, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, a country with which we share a special relationship.
We discussed the deepening of cooperation in various sectors, including diplomacy, energy, and railway infrastructure.
We also spoke about the importance of coordination in foreign policy and of close cooperation in the Euro-Atlantic integration processes of both countries, as well as advancing regional engagement.
Sir Noel Malcolm was at Harvard University when he was receiving constant calls from international media. At the outset of the war in Kosova in 1998, he published the most important international historical account of the country. By the time he was receiving those calls, the war was already well underway, ending in June of 1999 following the NATO intervention. His work was timely, as propaganda was being used to justify genocide, and it documented the systemic discrimination of Albanians. He set the record straight at a moment when distorted history was being weaponized, so that the truth of the past could shape a more just future.
I had the honor of having a number of discussions with Sir Malcolm last night in London, who is currently at Oxford University, and of expressing my gratitude for what remains the most definitive English-language scholarly account on Kosova.
At LDC, global leaders are discussing what tomorrow’s conflicts may look like - and how we can be ready.

Conversations that matter, in a space designed for dialogue.
At House of Kosova, Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Rory Stewart OBE shared a fireside conversation on democratic resilience in a changing world, trust, and the responsibilities of leadership.
An honor and pleasure to be invited to the USA House @Davos for an enlightening discussion on faith and leadership in the context of the 250th anniversary of American independence. I spoke of faith as the backbone of service, struggle, and social unity, from my time as a political prisoner and prisoner of war in Serbia to my current role as Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosova.
Tomorrow, I will join Rory Stewart (@RoryStewartUK) for a fireside chat at the House of Kosova (@houseofkosova_) at 14:00, on the margins of the World Economic Forum.
We invite questions from the audience, including from those unable to attend in person but who would like to take part. Questions for either Rory or myself may be submitted by email to [email protected]. All identifying details will be withheld.
The conversation is intended to be open and inclusive and will also be streamed.
The result of Kosovo’s recent election left other parties in the country shellshocked, says an opposition politician. We explain why https://t.co/y8Vk4CqIqy
The greatest challenge facing #Kosovo is the threat from Serbia. Vetëvendosje has demonstrated it understands this threat, and is the party best qualified to confront it going forward.
We welcome the EU’s decision to lift the measures imposed on Kosova. Our government has consistently maintained that these measures were unfair from the outset, as they sanctioned Kosova for divisions orchestrated by Serbia—an agenda that also led to multiple major terrorist attacks on our territory, including the fatal attack in Banjska and another in Ibër-Lepenc that targeted critical infrastructure. Throughout this period, we have remained fully committed to the European Union, to fulfilling the criteria for membership, and to continuing as dedicated allies and champions of democratic values.
In a democracy, there is no political monopoly. Moreover, the use of coercion, violence, illegal activity, or acts of terrorism to maintain political power is fundamentally illegitimate and must be unequivocally condemned. 1/4
The right to run in elections also carries responsibilities. Authorization to run is not automatic. We have exercised our democratic right to raise concerns about the Serbian List party and to cast our vote accordingly. 3/4
Our concerns stem from its involvement in the Banjska attack and other activities that endanger the country’s democratic process, as well as the party's continued refusal to distance itself from these actions. 4/4
