@CoachSperling brings nearly a decade of coaching experience at the high school level, serving as an Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, and Offensive Line Coach across programs in Tennessee and Kentucky. His background includes building disciplined, physical football teams and developing student-athletes into leaders on and off the field.

A United States Army veteran with multiple combat deployments, Coach Sperling’s leadership style is built on accountability, toughness, and servant leadership. We are excited for the energy, experience, and commitment he will bring to the Longhorn football program.

Had a great time yesterday competing in the 10th annual linemen challenge in Willis. As a team we qualified for state and I’m so proud of how me and my teammates have evolved over these few months. #1h1h

Extremely proud of our @TarkAthDept Bigs today at the Warzone Lineman Challenge!

Out of 22 teams, our guys finished 6th overall, competing against some of the best competition around. What makes that even more impressive is that we were one of only two 3A schools in attendance, with the rest of the field made up of 5A and 6A programs.

Our boys competed with tremendous effort, toughness, and heart from start to finish. They never backed down, embraced every challenge, and represented Tarkington the right way. Beyond the results, they had a blast competing together and growing as a team.

What stood out most was the respect they earned. Multiple coaches from other schools went out of their way to compliment our players on their work ethic, attitude, and competitiveness. That says a lot about the young men in our program.

I am truly in awe of this group. They fought for every point, supported one another, and showed exactly what it means to be a Longhorn.

The future is bright. 🤘
