i've been freaking out about this fact for a whole fucking year!
in the photo from the 1935 (or 1934) play, based on the play El Gran Teatro del Mundo, the atmosphere is VERY SIMILAR to the one staged in bsd — about ability users
compare the composition
#bsd
the play "the day is a dream, the night is real" was staged at the Theatrum mundi, which refers to another play by Pedro Calderon, in which the author-God distributes roles to the characters. it can be assumed that Kafka is trying to show the prescriptiveness of the bsd universe
@Akusalpha hey! can you explain what "bsdtwt" means in context? i've only recently joined the eng-fd (
and why such a tag very often accompanies tweets with ed and sfh from shedtwt??? i'm sorry if that's what i asked without negativity
@snowykolya oh there's such a moment!
probably, in most cases, we are used to seeing the FACE as a marker of PERSONALITY (it's generally funny here, bc we have Kafka in a mask) and Gogol shows complete discord with himself
idk if it's possible to congratulate Dostoevsky on Easter today, bc today is Catholic Easter, and Orthodox Easter will be in a week. Fyodor's prototype was Orthodox, but Kafka in bsd seems to be leaning towards Catholicism in relation to Dostoevsky 🤔
the key word in this take is PROBABLY
i repeat: Kafka doesn't at all seek to show absolute evil or absolute good, and this works for any character. if it seems to you that Dostoevsky is only evil in the bsd universe, then you have read only the first layer of the manga
@no_longer__grin He had killed children even tho it's indirectly. And he is that evil. He lived for hundreds of years and probably killed dozens, he won't suddenly grow a conscience when killing a child in order to succeed his goals.
@moesanos@PikPiP it could be said that Yosano also caused pain when she healed. and bc of her abilities, the soldiers suffered bc she wouldn't let them die (okay, she was forced, but she could have killed herself and stopped everything!)
@adularescenic why is he comically evil? you make it sound like he was just offended and angry about something, like a child
besides, i'm not trying to justify Fyodor, but speaking of evil, we'll have to expand the list of characters
@slhmwoqaps15195 этот ерсонаж
