One problem in our culture, and I get this reply often, is that society thinks teachers have to earn the right to be respected. Let me just say NO, teachers should be respected for their position, training, and influence until they give someone a reason not to be respected.

Districts, if your teachers are 100% online and you aren't giving them a day without online classes so they can plan, grade, catch up, get support, have meetings, and help students who may need it, then please think about how that would actually help teachers be MORE effective.
