When I was younger I'd read about the Ottoman empire banning the printing press or whatever and I'd think "Why on Earth would they do that? They can't all have been that retarded, can they?" but unfortunately I get it now.
I think Anthropic is on an a generational PR run with the past few days of news. I think it’s all planned and on purpose. That, or they are still as horrible at PR as they were 6 months ago hahaha
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

anthropic won't let you use fable for biology, chemistry, ai research, or anything that accelerates human progress. that makes it the perfect tool for developing blockchains

Does anyone else hit their Claude sub limits EXTREMELY quickly (without spending $500 a day)?
#1 reason why I use Codex so much. I somehow can’t figure out how to hit limits with codex vs. I’m trying to figure out how to avoid hitting my limit with Claude
I invested in that WeFunder round Replit did a few years ago, so I want them to succeed because it’s an awesome co and brilliant engineers, but I don’t see how the big labs don’t eat them
Extremely good point and is very relatable when you apply this to your own lifestyle - overspending happens at all levels of income and is a budget issue, not necessarily an income issue
If the entire wealth that all ~900 US billionaires accumulated over their lifetimes were confiscated today, it could fund the U.S. federal government for… 1 year
That’s it, and you couldn’t do it a second time because you would already have taken everything.
Ah, that would be a yes…I’m a little late to the party. Going to turn on Bill Ackman notifications from here on out to make sure I don’t miss an easy trade 🤣
Step 1. Lose money, but everyone addicted to the high of a token-filled lifestyle through subsidized subscriptions
Step 2. Nerf models accessible through cheaper subscriptions, create $1000 subscriptions to the god models, which people will undeniably pay because they are all token addicts
Step 3. Profit
This was the Standard Oil play from Rockefeller.
He realized early all the risk was in finding/drilling oil so he just refined it and sold it as safer and standardized.
He dumped the risk onto everyone else and didn't care who won because he was the distributor not the one taking the risk.
@zanehengsperger Have been following for a while now, really love how you are so stoked on reindustrializing for the future! How difficult was finding good talent in the manufacturing space? If it is/was, is building in Detroit part of the solution to it?
