There really aren’t any rules. You just go to court. If it fails, go to court again until a judge says you’re all set.
Want a 7th year?
Sure
Broke rules?
Ahhhh, it’s fine.
There AREN’T any rules.
A random judge somehow has more power than the NCAA and for a second time this offseason, a local court has overruled the NCAA’s decision about NCAA’s own rules and made their hometown team’s QB eligible despite repeated denials from the NCAA.

So much to unpack here.
1. Support staffs are already understaffed for many schools across the nation.
2. A lot of units like SIDs and athletic training are covering soccer in the fall and baseball/softball in the spring. At low resource D1 schools - some may have a basketball too. Add in lower numbers in video and creative with a bevy of other sports going on - burnout will continue to trend higher and higher year over year.
3. At NCAA championship caliber programs like Virginia - you now have men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse and men’s soccer - all programs any given year could win an NCAA title - sharing one of the nation’s best grass surfaces at Klöckner Stadium. What does wear and tear as well as scheduling look like? That doesn’t include women’s soccer if that that move is made. Now it’s 4 NCAA title seeking programs.
4. With Rev/Share we are already seeing elimination of tennis and other programs. If women’s soccer moves to fall/spring model too - how many sports are eliminated 5 years from now? Men’s soccer is already under represented at 40% less than women’s soccer.
5. I know the soccer community wants this - but the infrastructure in college sports doesn’t exist to properly support what needs to be done for the better good of all sports.
6. I remember COVID when soccer played in spring and logistics wise it was a nightmare. I covered a few soccer games as the lacrosse SID because the soccer SID had baseball.
7. You will see more and more support people leaving college sports that are at places that don’t support their support people with additional resources but expect the same output.
At 4 am this morning, as I laid in a deep slumber, I was called to action by my wife who had discovered a spider the size of a half dollar in the bathroom. Without hesitation I arose to combat the intruder. Claire handed me the slant board I’ve been using for rehab, and I immediately knew the spider had no chance. It took but 1 attempt to strike down my opponent. I received hugs and kisses for my bravery and fell back asleep with confidence. Have a day gentlemen. 🕷️
Timberwolves win by 2 last night, and I can’t help but remember Luke Kornet passing up a wide open layup for a pass on a possession they didn’t score on
