UPDATE Replying by Silence: I am pleased to hear that, following intervention by the @LSB_EngandWal, @barstandards is reconsidering its position on regulatory action re RBS to pupillage applications. Hopefully, together the BSB, @thebarcouncil, and LSB can stop this bad practice.

Unfortunately, there was no pupillage for me today, but it was always improbable on my first attempt. Nevertheless, I’m so happy with my two scholarships for September’s BTC. The grind continues to next year.

Update re @barstandards: Unfortunately, I have not been able to persuade the BSB to end replying by silence through regulation. Nevertheless, I shall continue to pursue change to stop this bad practice with @BarCouncilChair and @thebarcouncil. Thank you all for the support!

UPDATE re @barstandards: The Director-General has responded to my letter sympathising with my position. However, he has not committed to any regulatory action. Therefore, I have restated my call for regulation and requested a meeting in my response. Thank you all! (1/4)

UPDATE re @thebarcouncil: I am delighted by @BarCouncilChair’s strong statement on replying by silence. Following his reply to my letter, I have responded to him expressing my gratitude for his statement, suggesting solutions to end this cruel practice and requesting a meeting.
