@fasterthanlime Fireship's numbers are correct (although they may not be from the latest versions). Task Manager doesn't report memory of all subprocesses correctly. In order to get accurate benchmarks, we use mprof which tracks memory usage of all spawned processes: https://t.co/tWi25qGgCR
@sindresorhus You've done a lot of awesome work with Electron, so I wonder what you'd think about an alternative that brings <1mb installers, better performance, and real security: https://t.co/LGBR6Enm51
@tillsanders@sindresorhus It looks really cool, but I'm not sure what an "election compass" is. Also, the getting started guide that the hero action links to is not available in the top navigation bar. I was looking for a getting started guide there and could only find technical documentation.
@bencodezen My drivers ed course had a blur listener to pause the video if you clicked off the page. Deleted that real quick so I could play it on a second monitor. Even went as far to make a bot with puppeteer to skip through the boring sections.
@hanno You should give @TauriApps a try. Binaries can be less than 1mb with half the ram usage of electron. Write your main process in Rust, or soon in JS/TS with Deno.
@sindresorhus@stramel89 It's so great you have to try it! My favorite thing is that it differentiates between "read" and "done" so you can keep track of what needs to be taken care of and what you haven't even read.
@tjrcodes @rustlang I never used semicolons in js, and they kinda bug me in rust. I think that a missing semicolon isn't enough of a difference to make the line return the expression. Using "return" is much more obvious and is only a few more characters. I wish rust didn't use semis at all.
@system76 Zen 2 mobile would be sweet, saw a rumor they had a 12 core coming. USB 4/thunderbolt with some USB A and HDMI. 100wh battery, 15-16 inch screen. Expandable ram and storage. And, most of all, a 1440p display. 1080 is a little low but 4k is overkill and expensive #spirited76
@evanyou I made a new version that has a component to control each cube. The rotation is passed down from a parent component via a prop. Right now it's only in Vue 3. https://t.co/E4xPmJcoYb
@igorhalfeld@vuejs Vue 3 version at https://t.co/XRncRoLCvI. For source code, just view the page source as it uses cdn scripts instead of a build process.
@jora_cristi@igorhalfeld@vuejs Since the individual boxes are not a vue component, the demo is effectively just vanilla js. The only use of vue is for the input control. While the react demo is 'bypassing' react, I believe the Svelte demo actually uses a svelte component for each box.
