I would get in @The_BakeryHQ before BM x RDP collab on another one.
So I just finished my first season as the Pitching Coach for my high school alma mater, and I first can't say how blessed I was to have the opportunity. I went into the role not knowing if I coaching was my thing as I have never been particularly great at articulating my knowledge and experience into something palatable for younger guys to understand. However, what I learned was that no matter what role you are thrust into, the most important trait is being adaptable and embracing the hard, and sometimes embarrassing moments.
I can not express enough how proud I am of the great group of young men I had the honor of coaching in this first year. With our previous year ending up only 4-15, there is something to be said the truly historical turnaround these guys made in finishing 15-6 and making it to the District 6 Semifinals. Although we had a rather young team, it can not be said enough just how profoundly of an impact our 4 seniors had, not just as ballplayers, but leaders, and honorable young men. To endure such a painful year in 2025, and then turnaround, plant their heels in the ground, and go to work on such a spectacular season this year, the toughness can not be emphasized enough.
If I can leave the seniors with a parting message, and the incoming young guys with a message to keep with them as they develop, it is this; Do not focus on your goals. Sure, it is good to have small goals as guidelines to follow in how you go about your business, but the real importance is seeking out love. Love what you do, find peace and love doing the small things, foam rolling, soft tissue work, warming up, J-Bands, plyo balls, etc.... When you truly love what you are doing the goals begin to take care of themselves, and accomplishing the goals doesn't feel like a hamster wheel of repetition, but instead, you learn to appreciate the journey to fulfilling those goals and dreams.
What a great year, and a proud moment to be apart of the Bald Eagle Baseball '26 team.
