Sandwiches weren't invented by Americans, but were certainly perfected by us. No other nation has a sandwich breadth as vast as ours, from cheesesteak to reuben to hot brown to club. I've had sandwiches in 8 European nations and they were all weaker.
Southern food is American and ought to be renowned world wide.
Tex Mex is American, developed by Hispanics in America.
