The man's name is Rabindranath Das. He resides in the Chobbish South Pargana district of India. He's a fisherman by profession.
Das and 15 other fishermen were fishing with a trawler in the Bay of Bengal in Haldia region of India.
Suddenly a heavy storm unleashed hell.
At one point the trawler capsized.
Everyone was swept by the huge waves.
Das was also swept away, but tried his best to stay alive.
Das kept floating for 5 days.
After 5 days, about 600 km distance, Das arrived in Qutubdia, Bangladesh.
Then the captain of the Bangladesh ship "MV Jawad" saw him floating from a distance and hurriedly threw a life jacket at him but he could not catch it and sank.
But the captain of the ship, ignoring the caste, religious differences, the thorniness of the borders, put the best effort to help Das.
After some time Das was seen again some distance away.
The captain immediately turned the ship and threw a life jacket.
At some point Das managed to grab the life jacket and slowly started coming towards the ship.
He was hoisted onto the ship by dropping a crane near the ship.
The scene of him being taken aboard was captured on video by one of the ship's sailors where it could be seen that when Das was successfully brought on board, all the sailors of the ship shouted with joy.
This is known as humanity which Bangladesh respects.
India has a lot to learn from Bangladesh.
