You were the baby of the class you know Your really didn't know that one and one was two Two and two were four You were the baby of the class You were so young and so uncertain Suffer little children Oh what a poor soul Oooh, do we not sail on the ship of fools?
@TheKennyDevine and ahmed el ahmed - where was he to steer the plane one armed back to safety??? too busy in his fake fruit shop tobacconist punching his dad.
1988, the year of change.
The year the Go-Betweens sang "Streets of your town".
An Aussie kid, perhaps the childhood of the singer, runs through the streets of the decaying foundations of his streets. The local businesses, the third spaces where people used to meet. The human scale of the society Australia used to be before the "mass" changes that began to occur in the 80s with globalism.
We didn't have to do this. Enjoy this song, an Aussie song, reminding us what our streets should be like. Full of family businesses and places to meet.
@mase_the@QBCCIntegrity It's what you would have done had they're not been legislation to tell you otherwise. Because you would not want your customer to think that you're charging that amount. How can you be so indoctrinated so programmed. You are an embarrassment.
Labor isn't banning surcharges, they're just legislating that those fees now have to be hidden at the checkout and incorporated into the full advertised price.
Labor likes to HIDE taxes and charges so that your grievance with the bill gets channelled into the business rather than the government.
Imagine if you were charged the market price at first glance but then presented with the amount of tax as a separate charge. People would be angry. This legislation is sold as convenience and the people accept it. In reality it is supporting the banks and card companies by hiding their fees via legislation. Cash is king.

David Shoebridge has deservedly been elected as Greens leader as he is the only sane one in the party. Mehreen Faruqi has signalled that she is disappointed with the direction of the Party, but everybody else is happy because it's not her direction, which was terminal. Something something racism.
