Do you know the difference between sexual harassment and sexual assault? Here we’ve put it simply. Have no shame in reading and taking the time to understand these definitions. #sexualharassmentendsnow
Here is some information about sexual harassment towards gender and ethnic minorities.
Small comments made towards minorities can gaslight the deeper problem of justification of sexual harassment towards minorities.
Sad to hear that this still affects the woman and her view of herself!! It is even worse to know that this is not uncommon, it happens a lot, at any age and has lifelong effects on a person’s sexuality or perception of themselves.
#Sexualharassmentendsnow#experience8
This was Nima's experience.
Sexual harassment can happen at any age and sometimes we may not even realise it is happening to us. Nobody should have to experience this.
We should also work together to help people recognise sexual harassment, in order to help put an end to it!
Do you know what sexual harassment looks like? These are just a few examples. Although it can take many forms, some more obvious than others, it’s still important to understand that it is never the victim’s fault.
This campaign was created to raise awareness of sexual harassment and support those who have experienced it. These are some statistics taken from the 2019 NORC study in the US, which highlights the normality of sexual harassment in society against all groups of people.
These comments and actions (however minor they may seem to those saying/doing them) have a lasting effect on those being targeted!! It is not fair that people cannot even do regular things without feeling unsafe!
#experience6#sexualharassmentendsnow
We're here to raise awareness and deconstruct the social acceptance of sexual harassment, it should NOT be seen as something to just be ignored or shrugged off, because it happens so often. It's unacceptable in all cases!! #NOMORE
Disgusting! We rely on bouncers and other security figures to protect and help us but you never know when they will abuse their power! How does this go unnoticed and nothing happens to the perpetrators? It must be stopped!
#experience5#sexualharassmentendsnow
This happens a lot of the time and has a mental effect on one’s wellbeing! Shouting abuse is not “funny” or “cool” and seriously affects people’s willingness to do normal, everyday things like walking in the streets!!
#experience4#sexualharassmentendsnow
This happens too often. Many people feel powerless in these situations as they don’t want to cause a scene so must ignore it, which has serious repercussions on their wellbeing and their sex and love lives. Being drunk is not an excuse!!
#experience3#sexualhaassmentendsnow
Sexual harassment can happen to anyone regardless of gender, race or sexuality. Everyone’s experience is valid & important to address as it can still affect us all !!
Everyone should speak up & address the issue that is SEXUAL HARASSMENT
#experience2#sexualharassmentendsnow
Touching women & laughing with your mates may seem like harmless “lad” banter between you and your mates but it’s a very serious issue. It can leave women scarred for life by associating common pleasures, like clubbing, with fear & anxiety.
