Ukrainian activists in Maryland say the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra has scheduled Vadim Repin to perform on November 6–7, 2026, despite his public support for Putin and past state-linked performances.

The petition states that Repin’s ties to Putin and appearances at state events risk promoting propaganda while Russia continues targeting Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure.

The petition calls on the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra in Annapolis, Maryland, to cancel Repin’s November 6–7 performances and address community concerns regarding his ties to the Russian state.

I report on Russian terrorist attacks against civilians every day. It seems to me that because the casualty numbers of individual attacks are not "shocking" on their own, people and news outlets just look the other way.

​But let’s count together how many people Russia killed today alone:

- ​3 in Sumy, where a Russian glide bomb struck near a medical facility.

- ​3 in Odesa, in a missile strike.

- ​1 in the Mykolaiv region, on a farm.

- ​1 in the Chernihiv region, in his own home.

- ​2 in Zaporizhzhia (where the death toll was unfortunately just updated).

- ​2 in the Donetsk region, also in their own home.

​That is 12 lives taken already, and it is only evening here. The number of injured is much higher, with many suffering severe, life-altering trauma.

​Yet almost nobody is covering this. Not a single major news outlet. That is how desensitized the world has become to Ukrainians being bombed.

​This is just one single day out of four and a half years of war, and these numbers only reflect the territories we control.

​Please do not stay silent. Do not let our deaths become invisible, and do not let Russian war crimes go unpunished. If the news won’t speak for us, we need your voice.

The International Olympic Committee isn’t an intergovernmental organization. Instead the IOC is registered as a private, not-for-profit international non-governmental organization organized as an association under Swiss Law (specifically under Articles 60 et seq. of the Swiss Civil Code). Basically in today’s world the IOC is money collecting and distributing machine. As it appears with no moral engagement or constraints.

There are currently two active representatives from Ukraine serving as Members of the International Olympic Committee: Valeriy Borzov and Sergii Bubka. From Ukraine but not representing the government of Ukraine or required to coordinate their position with the government.

The IOC is currently led by a former minister in the government of Zimbabwe, a country that voted against practically all resolutions of UNGA in support of territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The EU provides variable financial support to International Olympic Committee via multiple European Commission grants, educational initiatives, and collaborative development schemes.

Erasmus+ Programme: This is the primary vehicle for EU sports funding. The IOC and its affiliate entities, like the European Olympic Committees (EOC) EU Office, secure grants for grassroots sports development, social inclusion, and dual-career programs for athletes.

In light of a provisional decision of the IOC to return warmongering Russia to Olympic Games on July 14, 2026, a coalition of nine EU member states (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, and Sweden) formally petitioned the European Commissioner for Sport, Glenn Micallef, to completely cut off the IOC and other complicit sports bodies from Erasmus+ and all alternative EU funding programs.
