The only adult godwit with an operating transmitter has now left Alaska and is making good progress on his journey directly to NZ, he should arrive back at Miranda next weekend, hopefully he can negotiate the storms in the pacific
So, it turns out a series of calls I recorded on the night of 13th May here on my #Filey#nocmig belonged to an American Golden Plover. Madness, and I can barely keep up, but I'm not complaining.... https://t.co/MmpgrbrQEJ
We took advantage of the best days of migration from home, getting good recordings despite the noisy environment in Barcelona, thanks to @Dodotronic mics. We had lots of wood sandpipers compared to last year and many great spotted cuckoos, our favourite of the favourites!
After a while without posting, we are back! This spring has been very intense in terms of work for @rRobert8mr and me (@oriolbaena), also involving bioacoustics and bird sound recording. We have recorded again in Alta Garrotxa (eastern Pyrenees) and we tried a new place! ⤵️
We've also recorded in Lleida steppes, producing recordings of both migrating birds and nocturnal songs of many species. The highlight was this flock of pintails migrating in a semi arid environment, where Dupont’s lark and black wheatear breed, amongst many other superb birds.
