Something interesting happened this week that seems bigger when the pieces are viewed together.
DTCC brought its first tokenization platform into Fund/SERV โ infrastructure that processes more than 85% of U.S. mutual fund activity.
A day later, the SEC opened a temporary regulatory path for certain tokenized U.S. stocks to trade onchain.
Meanwhile, the tokenized real-world asset market continues to grow.
None of this means traditional finance is suddenly moving onto blockchain. Tokenized equities remain tiny compared with conventional markets.
But the conversation seems to be changing.
Less: Can traditional assets exist onchain?
More: How do we connect onchain assets to the financial infrastructure that already exists?
That distinction feels important.
