The forecast for the annual average temperature in 2026 has been driven up by the forecast of a record-breaking El Niño at the end of the year.

This now puts the chance of a new record annual average in 2026 at 69%.

@rahmstorf @NurderK @schneidercar Die Emissionen interessieren nicht, wesentlich sind die Nettoemissionen (Emissionen - Senken). Bei den Nettoemissionen steht zum Beispiel Finnland sehr schlecht da. Das zeigt die Grafik, in der die orangene Linie die Nettoemissionen anzeigt. 2025 war der Wert höher als 1990 (!)

@IlkkaJLeinonen Jos satutte tarvitsemaan vielä (turve)peltoja mukaan tähän hankkeeseen, niin otathan yhteyttä? Omalla kunnalla kovat tavoitteet saada nettopäästöt alas, ja siinä maatalous on keskeisessä roolissa. Muut suuret päästölähteet (liikenne ja työkoneet) paljon helpompia tapauksia.

@IlkkaJLeinonen Mutta... Onko kannustimia käyttää hiiliviisaita ratkaisuja? Jääkö maatila Valion tuotantoketjusta pois, jos on liikaa nettopäästöjä? Valiolla (ja myös esim. Atrialla) on kovat ilmastotavoitteet, mikä heijastunee myös maatiloihin (?)

@IlkkaJLeinonen Erittäin hyvä, Ilkka! Omassa kunnassa maatalous aiheuttaa reilut puolet käyttöperäisistä päästöistä (jakauma kuvassa). Mietin, voisiko biohiilellä kompensoida osan päästöistä... Mahtaako biohiili vähentää N2O päästöjä (turve)pellolla? Onko tätä tutkittu?
