Late Bubul Gogoi, a mahout in the Western Range, Bagori, under the Eastern Assam Wildlife Div, tragically lost his life in a road accident on June 21, 2024, while on duty. WTI under its VRP Ex-gratia program supported by @ifawglobal provided assistance and a scroll of honour.

Wildlife Trust of India, in collaboration with the @ForestKerala and supported by @JTEFstaff, distributed field kits to the Rapid Response Team of the North Wayanad Division. 25 participants attended the workshop that was chaired by Mr. K.J. Martin Lowel IFS and Mr. Vivek Menon.

Such happiness to release a Great Indian #hornbill in the 1st stage of its rehabilitation. Rescued by @wti_org_india, @ifawglobal & @assamforest the bird had now regrown all its feathers. It will still be monitored in the centre premises till it can lead a wild life #IndiAves

I traveled to Wayanad in Kerala last month to meet frontline workers protecting India's forests. Their work is dangerous, low paid and often overlooked. They are not just rangers but peacekeepers in areas of human-animal conflict.

This is such a regular occurrence from Chennai to Malaysia & Singapore. I was first involved in the early 90s in helping bust one such consignment. Later @wti_org_india has helped restock after genetic & health checks in three instances. Glad to help here too @josethanni
