Earlier in the season, Angel Reese was publicly called out by the Chicago Sky GM after a 2–6 start, who said she needed to do more and be better for the team.

Just 48 hours ago, Reese told a reporter, “we have to get great players”—a reasonable statement about improving the team—and she is now being benched for making “detrimental statements.”

The GM can publicly call out a player, but a player simply commenting on the team’s needs is punished.
