It’s sort of like all the Frida discourse, they had innuendo on their products because the moms buy it, not the babies (still weird tho)

My most recent book made under 200 bucks in 3 months, less than half of minimum wage if you considered what the hours that were put into it were.

It was never full-time income, but it wasn’t insignificant either. AI has pushed people off KU and it’s made ABDL fiction so boring

Good afternoon to everyone except the people flooding the Kindle store with AI generated ABDL books - they’re all terrible, and because you release it in 10 AI translated languages, real books made by people get destroyed in the search results.

Straight up - my month 1 sales of a new release were around $300-$500 bucks, and then would consistently make between $50 and $100 per title for several months after, and then still $20 or so a month in the back catalog.

My most recent couple books do not hit this anymore.

@misspandapants It’s impossible… I used to say people are doing good stuff on Kindle but it has been FLOODED with AI written bs. It’s killed my side hustle.

It’s not like this was a career or anything, it’s a fun hobby, but I did rely on this income to put a down payment on a care, buy an engagement ring for my wife, and save for a down payment on a house. That doesn’t happen anymore.

Feeling a bit dejected because AI has ruined ABDL writing.

To be transparent, my sales have dropped DRAMATICALLY on Kindle because every day the same 5 authors put out a terrible AI written story in 10 AI translated languages and it makes finding quality stories impossible.

And there are now other authors who all of a sudden went from publishing every month or couple of months to every week or two? Yeah, definitely AI.
