Today is the 30th anniversary of the most iconic promo in WWE history.
June 23, 1996. Stone Cold Steve Austin won the King of the Ring tournament in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, defeating Jake Roberts in the final. Following the match Austin delivered an unscripted promo targeting Roberts' born again Christian gimmick.
"You sit there and you thump your Bible, and you say your prayers, and it didn't get you anywhere. Talk about your psalms, talk about John 3:16. Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass."
The Austin 3:16 shirt became the best selling piece of merchandise in WWE history.

It's happening. Call the military, the national guard. The Knicks are going to the Finals.
Save the entire military powers of the world, Z fighters, Satoru Gojo, Konoha ninjas, Gundams, the Avengers when they win the chip.
I remember during this time, being an Austin guy having all the 3:16 shirts and all, even I knew that there were two #1's. The tension of these guys crossing paths, the elevation of the Intercontinental Championship, then to this. That feeling, that tension, cannot be replicated.
It's that time of the year where we post the greatest video package WWE has ever done.
