How does signature verification work in L.A. County?
First, ballots are quickly scanned by a computer that matches the signature with signatures that are on file.
If the computer recognizes a signature, then the ballot moves on to be counted.
If it doesn’t, the ballot is then closely scrutinized by a human being who determines if it matches.
If they determine it doesn’t, that voter is contacted by the county and has 10 days to show up and “cure” their ballot.
If they don’t, the ballot isn’t counted.
One of the most striking precinct-level results comes from the Palisades.
The burn line along Sunset/Chautauqua also serves as a precinct boundary. Both are typically blue, but Pratt leads 61% in the fire-devastated precinct vs. 36% in the adjacent one, which was largely spared.
Spencer Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag pulled up to the back of Don Antonio’s in a Cadillac Escalade amid a stream of sports cars and Black SUVs at around 7:30 p.m.
Diehard Spencer Pratt supporters and a few local legends who didn’t make the list for Pratt’s watch party made the rounds doing media interviews and gathered at a Mexican bar next door. They began cheering as early results trickled in.

Around 10:20, Spencer Pratt emerged from his election night party to talk with reporters.
“Well, obviously God wanted five more months of me exposing all the failures of our mayor, so it’s gonna be a fun ride,” he said. “I hope she’s ready.”

A confident Spencer Pratt emerged from his election night party to talk with reporters on the sidewalk, soon after it was announced that L.A. Mayor Karen Bass had advanced to the November general election.
HILARIOUS: Drunk LA voters to NBC News NOW on why Spencer Pratt is the best candidate for mayor....
"[H]e's speaking out against communism and socialism, and it is a real big problem in our cities, especially in LA, where it's turned to crap. It's not an accident. They're doing it by design. Karen Bass wants to destroy our city, and it's nice to see someone like Spencer Pratt."
"I can simplify it because those buzzwords are, like, they -- they -- they -- they melt the brains of, like, left, you know, leaning people. So, let's just say it this way. He doesn't want you -- a human feces to be a part of your life. Yeah. He doesn't want homeless children outside."
"Oh, you don't like that? Oh!"
"She ran away!"
"When you have homeless people outside of the elementary having sex..."

I ask the L.A. Mayoral candidates for closing arguments?
@KarenBassLA: "We've brought down homelessness for the first time 2 years in a row...42,000 units of housing...crime rates to 60 years low."
@nithyavraman: "Angelenos are feeling the city is moving in the wrong direction...what I'm offering is urgency."
@spencerpratt: "My opponents are the reason the city is failing. Anything they say is just more lies. They know with me we're changing what's going on...I don't have the experience of failing like they have."

NEW: California is set to lose ~$450 million of its annual wildfire prevention funds in the coming years as two key money sources dry up. https://t.co/6PjuxcE9v0
At the same time, the state is on track to allocate the majority of a $1.5 billion fund from a voter-approved climate bond within just three years. Many wildfire safety advocates support spending the money quickly, but it leaves little for future years.
Based on a handful of sources, this is what I've been able to glean about the New Glenn failure this evening in Florida. TL;DR, it's freaking bad.
